The connector cable! With the model 1 adapter! Of all the things he could lose, he loses the power supply and AV cable. Cost me $10. Now I've just gotta find my model 2 genesis AV cable.
The GameGear AC Adapter is exactly the same as the Genesis 2 and 32X plugs so you're all set to play with that 32X.
Yeah once I checked the voltage/amperage and such I figured that. The plug has some electrical tape on it though, indicating a problem, so hopefully I can find a proper power supply soon.

Now the only problem I have is that my AV cable isn't quite right, it doesn't seem to fit into the plug very well and it causes color distortion and a complete lack of sound. Very annoying. If anyone's got a spare genny 2 AV cable lying around, they should give it to me!
Make sure you have everything connected correctly and the AV Cable is hooked up to the output on the 32X!

Pics and some other info on the help forums would be appreciated and could help us see what was wrong. Also the ribbon cables inside 32X units tend to become dislodged over time and if that's happened a quick re-connect should clear it all up no problem.

I see you batted clean up for me. I have the Tengen sleeve that should be on that Klax, for some reason my Mario 3 was in it...

Sorry, I simply meant you went through the store after me. I got my last find at that same Goodwill that you found those NES titles at. Though if they had Ninja Gaiden I would have jumped on that in a heart beat.

Now that I have the case mess sorted out, I suppose I should add that I got a pristine Zanac X Zanac for $117 plus shipping. Considering they've always been listed at $150+ on ebay for years I think I got a pretty good price. I also picked up Internal Section and Star Soldier (PS2), but Zanac was the important one. Finally Compile's swan song is mine!

I do have it hooked up properly, it outputs the video to my TV, it's just a bit off. Colors coming out wrong, that kind of thing, and it changes when I wiggle cable, indicating that it is in fact that cable.

However, I'm not sure what the symptoms of the ribbon cable problem are, so that could in fact be the problem, could that cause color problems, or a lack of audio? And assuming that is the problem, does the 32x require any special tools to open?
