Putting together a Game Room

The pictures arnt quite a good as the last ones because my camera decided it doesnt want to auto focus. Finally got some more shelves up and unpacked the rest of the games. Moved a few things around too.

First 3 pics are the old shelves re-arranged.








Top shelf has all my odd ball stuff such as empty game boxes, manuals, inserts, etc.
The small shelved area in the middle is great for storing games of weird sizes. 3DO, Saturn and Sega CD for now.

Nah, a brushed steel wall plate and a dark grey switch to add a splash of tone to the whole ensemble.

Thanks!! I spent just under $400 for the shelving and just over $100 for painting stuff. So $500ish has been put into the room as seen in the last pics. I'll probably spend some money to get a few nice frames so I can hang stuff on the wall and then a new couch will be the next "big" purchase.

Since just after X-mas I've been selling off a lot of my under appreciated gaming stuff in order to fund a large purchase. I had the same items posted on nintendoage, rfgeneration and racketboy. Racketboy was by far the most helpful forum for selling things and without it I most likely would have had to resort to Ebay and a lot of "lost" funds.

So a huge thanks to the Racketboy community for helping me acheive one of my longest standing gaming goals!!

Here are the newest additions to my collection/game room:






The Neo Geo AES was the biggest prize. The CDX was more of a purchase from the same awesome seller to make some room for the AES. Anyway I've wanted a Neo Geo for like ever so this is really awesome for me and its always exciting to have another library of games to dig into.

Congratulations on getting an AES and a CDX; both are very cool consoles. Someday I'll have the funds to buy a Neo Geo. For now I'm pretty happy with my CDX.

You bought a bunch of great Sega games. Aladdin is a solid title from the golden age of Disney games on Genesis. If you Like Aladdin you should also try The Jungle Book. TMNT the Hyperstone Heist is one of my favorite beat 'em ups. The gameplay is lots of fun, and the boss fights are brutal. Overall I like Hyperstone Heist more than Turtles in Time. Sonic Spinball isn't the best Sonic game, but it is a novel concept and a worthwhile addition to any Sega collection. Sonic and Knuckles on the other hand is the paramount Sonic game. Even without Sonic 3 locked on, Sonic and Knuckles has the biggest worlds and the best robotnik battles.
