This has nothing to do with video games...

Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

While I'd be skeptical it could be from the generosity of a stranger. Plus then adding music to it or even charging it would become problematic, not to mention paying the monthly bill for the iphone...shenanigans

I didn't even include the worst part of yesterday:
We're snowed in, and my Mother in law is having open heart surgery on Tuesday. We'll walk to Raleigh if we have to in order to see her.

That is terrible. I wish you, your wife, and her mother the best. It is really hard to feel as though you can't get to a loved one in need.

Thanks man, that means a lot.

My wife, understandably, is a little bit of a wreck. Her Mom has an enlarged heart that will be rectified, and is also going to have a valve replacement.

What is really crazy, is that until yesterday, my brother-in-law who is 28, didn't plan on coming to the hospital. He even tried to get scheduled for work the day of the surgery. Now, everyone deals with uncomfortable things in different ways, but really, not being their for your Mom when she's having heart surgery? And he also still lives at home.

I hate the phrase "man up", but that's what I felt like telling him. He's going to go, but, not if family didn't pressure him into it. Really disappointing.

It would be one thing to say, "I'll see her before and after surgery, but don't want to stay at the hospital for 12 straight hours", but he didn't want to go period.

Anywho, my gba will sure be getting a lot of attention during the complicated surgery. At least, hopefully. I need to check to see what is and what is not allowed in the hospital.

*wait wait* I think I have a great idea...

The Hospital Bar.

Screw the cafeteria, I'd like a glass of scotch, please.

When I was visiting a friend in baltimore, there was a bum with no legs, hobbling around on two logs attached to his stumps, panhandling at an intersection. Never before have I been so irritated that my phone battery was dead.

I've gotcha beat, Ack. Tacked to my wall is a deposit slip for my bank account in the amount of exactly five cents from when I needed to cash a check months ago.

It's been the only thing in it since.

Yup, I just love my three hours a week and $30 paychecks; it makes working for a company that systematically rapes everything I love worthwhile.
