The PS3 is more capable, but companies making multiplatform games will probably program the graphics based around the 360, and then port it to the PS3 without taking full advantage of its potential. The PS3 is more difficult to program games for, thus making it the Saturn of this generation.

you all have great points!!!

i am in fact more interested in what system has successfully pushed their system over the other, like done set in stone. hearing about the potentials is also important to me, i did in fact throw the saturn equation in the mix. its 2 topics to be answered here.

im glad i threw the sega saturn equation to the mix, looks like it made sense after all.

who knows if a easy add on is done for either of the systems. perhaps a freebie that can be thrown into a new game that can extend the system a couple more years for bigger greater games
There are 3 things I don't believe in, politics and math.

Agree with a couple of guys...we all know I have had...many of ps3...and, its a power house yes...but, no one is really using all of its power yet for some reason. I tend to think most of the multi games look better on the 360. I keep hoping god of war 3 will look crazy considering they have put so much time into it...but it will probly look like just any other ps3 game
Yep, I know im the one ya love to hate.

I'm really surprised that nobody has mentioned the consoles' respective media. PS3 has blu-ray and Xbox 360 runs standard DVDs. The PS3's dual layer blu-ray can store up to 50GB's while the Xbox's DVD is around 8.5GB's. From that point of view, the potential of the PS3 is much greater than the Xbox's.

So, like all of the other posts have stated, PS3 has better graphics than the 360, but it may not be so definite until they can use more of its potential.

Nah, nah... this is all wrong.

The Wii is obviously the PS1. The PS1 introduced gaming to an entirely new generation of gamers, which alienated a good chunk of the old hat. Both the Wii and PS1 are the most popular consoles of their generations. Also, the PS1 was the most underpowered console at the time.

The PS3 is the Sega Saturn. It's capable of great things, but most developers aren't willing to put the time into it. Also, both systems had similarly atrocous marketing campaigns at launch and were scorned by the majority of gamers.

I wouldn't say the 360 is an N64... it's just somewhere in between the Wii and PS3. The "Medium Punch", if you will, to the Wii's "Quick Jab" and the PS3's "Haymaker".

There's nothing stopping devs putting games on multiple discs so the storage argument is completely null.

I know I'd prefer MGS4 on 4 DVDs than have to wait for those long ass fucking installs every couple of hours of playtime. Switching a DVD takes 30 seconds max. Installing the chapters on MGS4 takes 10 minutes...
