Ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for me.

And on the games, the WWE or NCW or whatev characters and rings you're seeing are all custom, i.e. painstakingly created from scratch. Firepro does have like, all the moves of any american wrestler (cuz you can't copyright wrestling moves), but it doesn't have the characters ready to go. You've got to create them, and it's a bitch, but probably fun. Though if you've got the hardware I wreckon you can dl rosters from teh interwebs.
Fun fact, did anyone realize that painstakingly, is like, pains-takingly, i.e. taking pains? Isn't that weird?

Fire Pro Returns is a great deal, I picked up a used copy for 10 bucks... I don't think I will ever need another wrestling game again, unless Hell freezes over and another Fire Pro is released in the US.
But if you think FPR has all of those cool CAW, logo, and ring edits right out of the box your in for a shock. There are more than a few wrestlers you can just rename, but most of what you want you gotta build from scratch. The menu system can feel a little clunky, and my first few CAW's took about 30-45 minutes each, and thats without setting the AI logic.
The logos in that video were awesome, but created pixel by pixel, I imagine one logo taking a few hours. So if you wanted a full on recreation of, lets say, the impending WWE vs. TNA Monday night wars, with a dozen CAW's per promotion and custom rings and logos... your looking at 12+ hours of work before your first match. But it would be totally worth it.
Now there are ways of downloading pre made CAW's, logos, rosters, etc, but you need a SPECIFIC kind of Action Replay cheat device for PS2 and an extra memory card. I've not any experience with it, but from what i've read at other forums it's the route most FPR players choose to go. The info is easy to Google, and the required items not hard to find.

Re: I'm just gonna say this's awesome
I was big into Firepro Wrestling Advance on the GBA. I used to spend hours making my own versions of real wrestlers from WCW, ECW, etc.
I recently picked up Firepro Returns for the PS2, and although I've only played it a couple times, its a really good game, and as mentioned before its quite the bargain at around $10. BTW, I used my Action Replay to download a few "edit packs" that had over 500 real wrestlers on it!

Can I play this on my PC with downloadable characters and rings?
Re: I'm just gonna say this's awesome
It may be possible to play it on PCSX2.

I was very tempted to buy Fire Pro Returns, but none of my local friends ever want to play wrestling games. I bought D and Advanced back in college and murdered D with some guys. It was sick how much some of them played D. Some moved on to Smash Brothers Melee, but Fire Pro was usually the backup.

This runs ps2 games?Niode wrote:It may be possible to play it on PCSX2.
What is the system requirement for this emulator?

Unfortunately, PS2 emulation isn't totally feasible yet. Most games will run slow and choppy if at all. However, since the graphics of Fire Pro Wrestling aren't that intensive, you may actually get this one to work. I've been able to play my copy of Disgaea on my laptop since it also uses sprite animation. You won't know if it will work until you try.

Yeah I wouldn't have recommended PCSX2 for most games, but for Fire Pro I should think it would be playable. Like JT I have tried Disgaea on my PC and it ran fine, but I have a q6600 @ 3.2GHz with a HD4870 so it's no slouch, you may have different mileage. I know my Macbook Pro can't run Fire Pro D (the Dreamcast version of Fire Pro) on lxdream. My macbook pro has a Core 2 Duo 2.33GHz with 3GB ram and a ATi Radeon x1600. So that should give you some idea of performance on a Mac.
