If you've got a really sharp and dangerous turn like that.. why would you build a whole line of steel pillars right after it? They should leave that whole space open on both sides just in case something like this happens!

It sucks that this guy died but that's the risk you take when you do something dangerous like that. How come there aren't any straps holding him down? I don't feel that sorry for this guy, sorry to say.

We all do things in our everyday life thats considered dangerous. We drive on the freeways, fly on airplanes, go skiing. Accidents happen. Just have a little compassion, it could easily be any one of us or someone close to us.

There is a big difference between driving a car and bobsledding. One is something you are pretty much forced to do to live in this world, and the other is 100% optional and unnecessary. I would feel much worse for someone who died in a car accident than from something like skydiving.

I unfortunately ask myself this question EVERY time there is a thread about some tragedy. There are some great people on these boards and then there are a select group that really make me question my faith in human beings.

I would feel much worse for someone who died in a car accident than from something like skydiving.

As would I, but still... this is a 21 year old KID. It's completely tragic; high-risk sport or not.

This track was made by ex-programer of video games, but the bobsleigh sliders had 3 lives in the game. And the steel pillar was there to lost some of the lives.

But seriously. Yes, this sure is a tragedy... I feel really sorry about his family, friends and so on...but as Inazuma said, he should have counted with this, this is really dangerous sport and I am much more sorry for the people that loved him, than about him personally.

I find the previous posts very disturbing. This is a real accident and death, not a video game. This could easily be one of our friends, parents, cousins, uncles, aunts, etc.

Just awful news.
His family must be in terrible shape right now, and I'm sure he had lots of family and friends who had to watch the horrific event. And unfortunately, they'll probably hear about his death over and over and over again in the news.

I'm sure the family is inconsolable at the moment, which is human nature, but I hope they can take just a tiny piece of comfort in the fact that he died fulfilling his childhood dreams.
