For fighters I find a square gate to be very cumbersome, so I switched mine out for an octo. For shmups I don't think the gate really matters, since you aren't trying to do lots of fireball and dragon punch motions.billberth wrote:hey i just got my Marvel vs capcom fight stick Te for the 360!!! Im very happy.
I think it has a square gate in it, is it worth changing it for a octogonal gate??
I have never use any of them (square and octogonal)
What is your preference

I also recommend SF 4 TE stick or Hori arcade sticks can't go wrong either way. I also own the SF 4 TE stick for PS3 and it has amazing build quality and looks awesome as well!!

Re: The Best Joystick for me
I am still getting used to the square gate myself. At first I hated it, but I am adjusting. A good friend of mine explained to me that it's because I am riding it.
He said those sticks are so sensitive, there isn't a need to do that and the square gate will eventually prove better in the long run.
Oh and congrats on the MvC2 stick. I wish I would have waited a bit on my SF4 stick as I like the artwork a lot more on the MvC2. Did you get it on sale at Gamestop for $100?
