There is no retro shops in Malta and the local retrogaming community is made up of less than a dozen people. So I end up buying Megadrive games from the UK. In most cases they are quite cheap but game such as Mega Turrican, Chaos Engine, Batman & Robin cost about 5 times as much from the UK as they do from the States.alienjesus wrote:Mega Drive games aren't especially pricey here. What do they cost in Malta?Hateshinai wrote:It's the same with Europe and the US. I end up buying all my NES games and most of my Megadrive/Genesis games from the USA. Even after shipping it still costs me a lot less.

Very true, it has saved me some cash in building up my Saturn collection!!superlarz wrote:This is actually very common, especially with Sega Saturn.

In Australia I would say at least 8 / 10 titles are cheaper to import (even with the retarded price on int shipping) than to buy locally (eBay im talking about, you of course fine cheap stuff in the wild once in awhile).
Japan is your best mate if your into the Saturn.

Another thing I've noticed is that when I search a SFC on eBay it usually comes with a box and manual. Finding a box and/or manual with a SNES game is very uncommon and usually drives the price way up.
And I've never seen a Japanese Saturn game for sale that was disc only. How many American Saturn games, or any disc game for that matter, do you find that is disc only? I guess the USA is just bad at keeping their shit together.

I did this with my DS Lite, but I "avoided" the shipping by asking a friend to bring it in person. I think it is relatively common if there is not region-locks that people will acquire stuff while in travels. Strictly I wouldn't call it importing, but effectively it's importing without paying shipping costs.

Anyone got a side by side comparison picture of US and UK DS game cases?

It seems like most of the people here are bad at keeping cases and mauals. A copy of Guardian Heroes I once picked up at a thrift store was complete but under the GH disc was the disc for Sega Ages. Would have been a nice score if I wasn't such a stickler for complete games...Ziggy587 wrote:And I've never seen a Japanese Saturn game for sale that was disc only. I got the Japanese version of IQ Final (PS1) for $10. I think the US version of this game goes for $70+ most of the time.

I was trying to get ahold of sonic chaos for master system and it was cheaper to pay shipping from the UK than to buy one from a us seller.
