J T wrote:WHOA!!!! That list helped me figure out what this game was that I have been trying to remember for YEARS! I was beginning to wonder if the game was even real or if I had only imagined it. The game was called Astron Belt.
I have the Astron Belt Laser disc along with Dragons Lair Disc.

Never did get the add on Pioneer ER-101 MSX Home unit though, can only watch the footage on my regular Flippy Pioneer.

There was this one too, FIREFOX with laser disc footage and game graphic you controlled:

Are the backgrounds real or 3D (JT)? Here's some not listed on the list I gave you:

Vouyer CD-i
Brain Scan CD-i
Snowjob 3DO

Edit: added JT

Astron Belt is a PALCOM Interactive Laser Disc game with data to load into a Pioneer ER-101 MSX. It has video just like the Arcade Laser Disc version, best way I can describe it is similar cheaper video footage of Battle Star Galactica using models and some Computer animation. More of a collector's novelty.

Firefox Laser Disc actually uses video footage from the movie. Both of these games would add a computer controled graphic for gameplay, pretty much a shump or roller coaster shooter.

The Dragon's Lair laser Disc is my Rare find, I can watch all the great Don Bluth animation on my regular Pioneer Laser Disc Player.

This game start scene appears a lot even just in watch mode:

I was talking to JT the original OP, unless you thought I gave the list to you. You must think I am dumb thinking the backgrounds were real in Astron Belt.

I was recently reminded of this thread. Did you ever find out what the game was JT? I hate it when some one wants to remember a game and no one ever figures it out. I must know.

FOUND IT!

Special thanks to AwesomeMonstar for linking to this in another thread. This is the game I was trying to remember. It's called Duelin' Firemen. It's even better than I remember. I forgot it had Rudy Ray Moore in it!
