Help me remember this crazy FMV game someone posted about
Months ago someone on this site posted a link to a youtube video that was a bunch of clips from some FMV game (probably from the 90s) that was absolutely batshit insane. I can't remember what the game was called and I couldn't find it from searching the site. I don't remember what it was about, but it looked absolutely ridiculous and over the top. I think the game might not have ever even seen an official release. I can't remember who linked to it for sure, but it seems like it might have been Mod_Man_Extreme. Anyone remember this?

I don't think I saw the original post you're referring to, but Black ICE/White Noise is the only game I know of that fits your description.

Here's a list of FMV games on wiki if that helps.

I played a lot of Time Traveler in the arcades. It's more than FMV, it's a hologram. There was Time Traveler and a fighting game I've forgotten the name of-- both were hologram games. It was cool technology, it's too bad they couldn't do more with the gameplay.pepharytheworm wrote:Here's a list of FMV games on wiki if that helps.

Thanks for the link to the list of FMV games. I am working through it, but still haven't found what I'm looking for. I have found a few games in there that would be a laugh to try out, like Psychic Detective.

WHOA!!!! That list helped me figure out what this game was that I have been trying to remember for YEARS! I was beginning to wonder if the game was even real or if I had only imagined it. The game was called Astron Belt.
Astron Belt came out in 1983. I have a vague memory of playing this game in a pizza place called Me & Willy's Pizza in Salt Lake City back in the 80s. Back then, the graphics in this game blew my mind. I only played it that one time, and I was so mad that I didn't have more money or time to play it. I remember soaring through the canyons and shooting at space ships and it all looked so real I couldn't believe my eyes. No other videogame looked this real at the time.
Thanks for that list! This was even better than what I was hoping to find.

Maybe it was Panic! for the Sega CD? Not really FMV, but animated, and totally insane. Link here:

No, it wasn't Panic.
I should specify a little more that it was FMV with real actors, not animated characters.
