Oh, yeah, it's not exactly the most fun you'll have with a movie. It's not a particularly fun or pleasant movie. However, I think it's a pretty good reflection on modern views of love and commitment, and showed the flaws in the normal view put forth in popular entertainment. My wife and I actually saw it on our honeymoon.Luke wrote: As much as I love Natalie, I hated CLOSER. It's like watching two hours of arguments. Arguments I've already had in the past. That scene with her in a thong is awes, but not worth watching the whole movie for.
What was the last movie you've seen?

Although I'm not a fan of CLOSER, it is a good example of how great Natalie is. She has an ability to make a connection with people, whether you love or loathe her.Limewater wrote: Oh, yeah, it's not exactly the most fun you'll have with a movie. STAR WARS prequels aside, I think she's pretty amazing.

Closer is terrible. Worst part is when she walks down the street in slow motion, dressed white trash with no bra it seems, at the very end.Luke wrote:As much as I love Natalie, I hated CLOSER. She was great in Leon, but I don't think she's ever really gotten any better as an actress, and I haven't really liked too many movies she's been in. Leon, Heat, and Closer are about it.
I just watched This is england. Pretty crazy.

Zombieland. Love it.
And while watching it, it reminded me of playing an old NES, if not Super NES, game. I don't know why.
And when that kid shoots the box of Twinkies, doesn't anyone notice the Twinkies on the shelf next to the door?

Re: What was the last movie you've seen?
I watched Avatar in 3D and was thoroughly disappointed. The movie was extremely straight forward and nothing came as a surprise. I had no attachment to the characters so even if someone important died it didn't seem to affect me. I really like movies that are more complex or have more intricate plots. Even if there wasn't all the hype to let me down, I still might not have enjoyed it too much. Not a bad movie, but not the phenonmenon that it has become.

Well what do you know.. Hyping an average product like Avatar has raked in the billions. At least I played no part in this travesty

I wouldn't really call Avatar "average." I have no reservations in saying that it was in the bottom twenty or so of movies I have seen in my lifetime.Pulsar_t wrote:Well what do you know.. Hyping an average product like Avatar has raked in the billions. At least I played no part in this travesty
