There's a similar trick in Wild Arms to get 255 of a single item. I used it on the stats boosting items quite a bit at one point. Went from doing around 200 damage to about 6000 in about four fights. Also used it on expensive items to work up lots of cash.ieatramen wrote:The other one is Final Fantasy 4's (snes) item doubling. That one was sweet. Get in a battle, select and empty spot from your items list, go up and switch out the empty space for the weapon you have equipped, run away. When you go to re-equip the weapon it will have a two next to it. I would do that and sell the weapon's or store them up so Edge could have something sweet to dart. I tried this on ff4 for the ds and it's a no go.

Fact: I've never met a single person who has jumped the flagpole without a cheat.
Question: Do freezes count as glitches? If so, I've had some ridiculous glitches. Glitches that I would have saved as wallpaper.

Or did you mean the re-titled as Final Fantasy II,
that we got over here on American shores? I suppose
they are essential the same thing. Just want to be
clear in case you have to use a certain version for
the item glitch you described.

Re: Cool game glitches
Somehow I forgot about all of the Super Metroid glitches. Here's my favorite one since you can get items early and skip bosses with it

It's force of habit. I'm on a netbook with a small resolution. I'll take what you say into consideration. Also, some forums don't seem to automatically wrap the text for some reason. In addition, I'm a software / web developer and I'm used to coding and writing comments out that way. I will try to remember not to do that anymore. Why do keep linebreaking your text? That's fine, I was just wondering if it was habit or if it was some sort of browser problem. On some posts its fine, but that last one was a particularly bad one. Took me 3 attempts to read it!Troglodyte wrote:It's force of habit. I'm on a netbook with a small resolution. I'll take what you say into consideration. ATV Offroad fury. In the free-range mode, when you hit the edge of the course you go rocketing back ragdoll-style at several hundred miles per hour. Arguably more fun than the rest of the game.
Missingno
In a lot of 3D games I experience when jumping what I refer to as the "Jackhammer Glitch", where you land somewhere they didn't want you to, and the screen shakes like crazy for a few seconds until you nudge away.

Re: Cool game glitches
I use to test alpha and betatest MMO's and got quite good at finding physics bugs. In the last title I betaed, which NDA is still active but I can say this much, I found over 100 in the three weeks my computer would run it. Unreal 3 engine on an integrated GPU since the other toasted itself = no go.
Other than that, it is not uncommon in most multiplayer FPS's for me to have/find issues. I remember one game of Wolfenstien Enemy Territory where I fell through the ground when jumping off a ledge.

On halo for the pc, certain players would join servers and get their fps (i thinks thats what its called) up really high. Then somehow find a way to get a banshee to move back and forth over someone elses base, automatically killing anyone who spawned there. I'm guessing thats kind of a glitch.
