Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

One of the coolest glitches in that game was the ability to zip through walls allowing you to skip parts of stages and sometimes screw up other things in the game.

This was most noticeable on Quick Man's stage where zipping through a wall meant you had to play the rest of the stage "in the dark".

Check out this guys video to see the glitch in action:

Another one: Mortal Kombat 2 had a funny glitch with friendships. It was sometimes possible to execute a friendship if you were killed by a throw. Used to have a lot of fun with this one when I managed to do it against unsuspecting friends.

Theres a video of the glitch in action. That guy has taken it to the extreme though...wish I would have thought about doing some of that stuff back in the day. :)
That collection of MKII glitches was hilarious. I used to love the Friendship and Babality moves. I didn't know you could execute them when you lost though. I'm also impressed that the Megaman guy can get through the stages in the dark. He must have every movement memorized. I think I might have hit that glitch before, but I would have died in the darkness.

Here's the Super Mario Bros minus world glitch:

Here's the Ghosts n' Goblins glitch on level 5 (I forgot to mention you can use the same glitch of dodging the exit gate on a couple of levels):

The coolest glitch though remains jumping over the pole in SMB.

This is possible on certain levels.
The myth is that it can be done in level 1-1.

Here's the Super Mario Bros 1-up glitch. You could also do this with the beatles, not just the turtles:

And what do you know, someone actually did jump over the flag! (unless this is a fake):

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm...I wonder if game genie was used to jump over the goal. I'm going to try that on the same world.

One of my favorites that I abused to no end was the Screen Scrolling glitch in Link's Awakening:
You need an earlier copy of the game (won't work on DX version) and when the screen is scrolling to the next area just hit select. If you do it right, the map will pop up, exit the map and you should be on the opposite side of the next screen. Fun ensues. My best accomplishment from this? Getting the Level 2 Power Bracelet before the sword.

One that I found in the original Mega Man X which is just plain weird is this 4th Subtank glitch:
Get three sub-tanks and make sure one of your special weapons has less than full power. Then, with the weapon that has less than full power selected, grab a weapon capsule and immediately hit start. If you did it right, you'll have a fourth sub-tank. Fill it using the same method, just don't over fill or you'll delete it and your third one. It recovers health just like the a normal one.

I doubt it... too many people have seem to have been successful in jumping over the goal in world 3-3.

As for 1-1; they are using some sort of hack.

The first glitch I knew about was the "morph ball-stand up" trick in Metroid. Just let the door slightly close on you then morph ball-stand up several times, jump several times to get the screen centered on you, and you can pass through the stage vertically while inside the wall. The only thing i remember it being useful for was being able to get the Varia suit before you got the high jump boots.

The other one is Final Fantasy 4's (snes) item doubling. That one was sweet. Get in a battle, select and empty spot from your items list, go up and switch out the empty space for the weapon you have equipped, run away. When you go to re-equip the weapon it will have a two next to it. I would do that and sell the weapon's or store them up so Edge could have something sweet to dart. I tried this on ff4 for the ds and it's a no go.

As a kid I remember thinking for the longest time that i was the only person in world who knew you could go behind the scenery in SMB3 by pushing down for several seconds on a platform.

Final Fantasy 4 (SNES)
I would assume, you mean the Super Famicom edition? Or did you mean the re-titled as Final Fantasy II, that we got over here on American shores? I suppose they are essential the same thing. Just want to be clear in case you have to use a certain version for the item glitch you described.
