Okay, but it's still odd. They're very different series.

Agreed... vastly different fighting games at that.

edit: oh, and I chose KoF.

It's hard to expect anything else. As far as most people are concerned, Street Fighter II was the first fighting game ever made, despite the obvious flaw in such reasoning.

Darkstalkers

I love the supernatural and...the odd. B.B. Hood is certainly odd. She's probably my fave character. Always reminds me of American McGee's twisted take on Alice. I absolutely LOVE the soundtrack in the Darkstalkers games. I think the gameplay hits a wonderful balance between technical Street Fighter gameplay and all out Marvel vs Capcom-like insanity. Of all Capcom's 2-d series, Darkstalkers has always endeared itself to me the most.

There are some gameplay elements I really like in Vampire Savior, like being able to get a fatality if you knock out an enemy with just the right attack. I also like the tug of war style gameplay where you can restore a certain amount of health and just fight one long battle until all your health bars are depleted rather than having rounds like other fighting games.

The PS version of Darkstalkers 3 also had a WONDERFUL create a character mode that was like a mini-rpg where you took your really, really weak character through arcade mode a few times beefing up their stats until even a low tier character could become a monster.

Yeah, love the series. Can you tell?

Yeah, sure, every BORING person can just go for the easy choice, which is Street Fighter

Nah, in all seriousness, Street Fighter is great, but I don't think it's the most fun 2-d series out there. Maybe the most technical and challenging, but that's not the only criteria I go by
