8-bit victory: NES games you are proud to have beaten
Re: 8-bit victory: NES games you are proud to have beaten
Zelda 2 and Super C (said by some to be harder than the original)
I've got no signature.
Re: 8-bit victory: NES games you are proud to have beaten
Definitely Castlevania for me, but I beat it so many times now I don't even care anymore.
I'm proud of the ONE time I beat Castlevania III, though. Don't know if I'll ever get around to beating it again, although I usually play a few levels every know and again, but I remember Dracula being very hard. Harder than Dracula in the first game, in my opinion.
I'll also have to say the ONE time I beat Castlevania II. I had to force myself to do it, because I don't care much for that game. I'll probably never play it again, I just wanted to at least beat it once.
This thread has made me realize how little NES games I've actually beaten. Besides the Castlevania's, I've only beaten the Mario's, the first Zelda, and Kirby... I can't think of any others. And since that these are all popular games that every one beats, I guess I have nothing to be proud of lol.

Beating Super Mario Bros twice in a row.
Re: 8-bit victory: NES games you are proud to have beaten
Oh, that reminds me... I'd like to add beating Castlevania 1 on it's "hard mode" to my list, if that counts.

Re: 8-bit victory: NES games you are proud to have beaten
I've not beaten a huge amount of NES games (I had a Master System), but i was quite proud of beating Super Mario Bros, The Legend of Zelda and Kid Icarus.
What boggles my mind is that people can find Megaman 2 tricky, but everyone seems to find Zelda and Mario easy! Megaman 2 gave me absolutely no trouble, whereas Maro Bros caused much, much rage. Damned game ¬_¬. And don't start me on those goddamn wizzrobes in Zelda either ¬_¬

I'm proud to have beaten that game as a kid. I recently played it again on "Zelda: Collector's Edition," got up to the 4th castle, and couldn't figure out how I put up with that crap long enough to beat it as a kid.8-bit Legend wrote:Speaking of hard to beat games....
Is it just me who hates Zelda II: The Adventure of Link?
Re: 8-bit victory: NES games you are proud to have beaten
Yeah, those NES Zelda games were pretty tough. I remember the hard part on Adventures of Link was when you had to fight your shadow self. I was also impressed with myself for beating the original Legend of Zelda because the early marketing for the game said something about it being a never-ending adventure. I believed that as a kid, so I was kind of surprised when I reached the end.

In the battle with your shadow self, the easy way to win is just to stand still while spamming your sword attack. The AI isn't that smart, it'll try to jump over/into you and you'll hit him in the legs where he's vulnerable.J T wrote:Yeah, those NES Zelda games were pretty tough. I found Super C to be a bit easier than Contra, myself. Probably because of the top-view stages. Hated the behind-the-back stages in the original.deathclaw wrote:Zelda 2 and Super C (said by some to be harder than the original)
I'm not necessarily proud that I beat them (I mean, they're just games) but here's a list of games I've beaten.
With Save States:
Castlevania - I can probably beat it without save states now that I know how to beat Dracula.
Without Save States:
Contra & Super C
All the Super Mario games
All the Mega Man games (Am I the only one that doesn't find these games hard? Except for the Yellow Devil, fuck him.)
Kirby's Adventure
Can't think of any others right now.
