Hmm...well, if you're getting all four lined up, it sounds like you're doing it correctly. Is this the order you're doing it? This is supposed to work:
Halberd armor
Axe armor
Shield armor

Re: Together Retro: Resident Evil
Haven't visited the forum in a while, but I'm going to try and squeeze in a bit of RE time before the month is over. If not, I hope to join in on November's games. It'll give me a reason to fire up Smash TV on XBLA again.

WOOOT! I am watching the credits right now. I think I got the crappy ending. There was a lot of stuff I didn't go back to look at and the game just kind of ended. I kept moving forward thinking could go back and check stuff out later. I never found anyone else and I didn't even talk to Rebecca again. The voice acting in this game is hilariously awful. My favourite scene in the whole game so far probably has to be Wesker telling Chris to stop laughing.

Dual-Shock Director's Cut for the PSOne is pretty tough to top. Still a SUPERB game!!!

Re: Together Retro: Resident Evil
well, in the spirit of honesty, I stopped playing after 2 weeks. And it wasn't that I didn't enjoy the game, but it was the lack of easy saving that kept me away. I hated working on something for an hour, and then dying and then having to do it all over again. And I hated that I couldn't just pick it up, play for 20 mins and then save without blowing a whole ink ribbon. Progress wise, I was only as far as having 3 out of 4 death masks.

As I played the ds version, would not view it as a good portable game. I finished it last night and got the ending with Jill and Chris only, mansion still there and Tyrant alive. Just watched the other endings on youtube. Total play time about 7 hours but could be twice that because of the same problem you had, didn't save too often and when I died had to backtrack and redo stuff. This was my first play of RE1 and think its an incredible game, I'm glad to have played it and regret not giving it a chance back when it came out it would have impressed me even more than RE2 did.
Deadly Aim is supposed to have more ammo and more enemies, I ended the game with lots of ammo for the bazooka, shotgun and magnum and its probably very different on the original versions. The knife mini games get tedious after a while specially when you get killed as the screen response sometimes plays tricks on you. Also experienced how uncomfortable it is to play a DS Lite for long periods. Next together retro game doesn't interest me so I'll try and play the gamecube remake.

I've played 2,3,CV,4, and 5.... I just snatched one up from a local retro game store for 5 dollars in mint condition for the sega Saturn.. Is the saturn version a good port?

Here is an old feature you should probably read about the saturn vs playstation comparison.
