I need help connecting my PS3 in wireless. I read on the net that using proxy makes the PS3 run faster, but I'm not sure how to because it says failed with test connection. I can connect wireless, but without proxy and it runs slower. If I hookup my PS3 wired it runs a little fast, but not fast enough. I'm cool playing PS3 wireless without the proxy because it doesn't lag. The thing is I want my PS3 Wireless with proxy inorder to download stuff on PSN.
Anyone who is an Apple/mac users please help.
P.S. I was not sure where I should put this post.

What you're trying to do makes no sense, unless you have a very unusual home network setup.
Proxy's are usually used to get around or enforce network security settings. They also cache static content to speed up basic web browsing, but that won't help the ps3 much.
Before setting up a proxy, you should find out what network setting is slowing down your ps3. Might be that you're using a bad DNS for primary lookups and then falling back to a good one after that fails. Or maybe your modem/router is blocking some ports the ps3 is trying to use. Either way, using a proxy almost always just hides the real problem and adds unnecessary complexity.

PS. Playstation Network is really slow most of the time even with a good connection. I love my ps3, but sony doesn't know how to run servers like ms does.

I found that direct Ethernet cable vs Wireless is more reliable and little faster ............
