My Father took great care of his games, and the copy he gave me of YARS' in in excellent condition, including the comic, which I have probably read a few dozen times.CRTGAMER wrote: Anyone remember YARS REVENGE?

About half of the things there are in-game tutorials for I already know how to do thanks to being a massive gamer. The other half I could just as easily pick out of the manual. Even with the tutorials are skippable they usually have an annoying amount of lead-in text before I can say "fuck off, I know how to play".
Also, I agree with you OP. You have a good point; I really think it's a vestige to times when you needed instructions outside of the game.

Re: Instruction Manuals are Obsolete
Manuals are extremely useful in fighting games, where a good number of them list a character's moves and combos. Also, the manual in Metal Slug Anthology is awesome; it details the story behind each game.
