Custom NES Labels. ZELDA OUTLANDS and more!

Post by Hewmanoid »

Hello everyone! New here, and would like to first-off say greetings.
I've been working on some custom NES labels, and wanted to share them with you guys!

First is a Zelda Outlands label. I have two different versions. One is to follow the style of The Adventures of Link gold cart with the green box in the left corner. The other just has the title on the bottom below everything. Both have custom shield logos.

The other one is for Mario Adventure. I have not played this yet, but this is the prototype.

And last, but not least, is Super Mario Bros 2 (J).

Comments are greatly appreciated. Requests are welcome as well! If you like what you see, and want to use it for a reproduction cart, just tell me. We can surely work something out!

Thanks for looking!

Nice labels, not that useful unless you happen to have either a repro without a label, or unless you imported the game and chucked it in a NES cart casing.

Welcome, nice first post.

Thank you. I agree, they're not much of use in their current state. But if someone was going to buy a reproduction at either nesreproductions.com, or gamereproductions.com and wanted to use my labels instead, then they're useful. Haha.

Not bad at all. I've been working on some BS Zelda Ancient Stone Tablet labels, just hoping to eventually be able to use them (the ROMs aren't hacked enough to put on a cart yet).

Do you just make NES labels, or do you make labels for other systems? I've made mostly SNES labels, and a few others here and there. It's actually a lot of fun.

And welcome to the forum!

edit: One tip I will give you for making labels... You should round the corners. When I first started printing custom labels, I had squared corners like yours. When you print them out, it's too hard to round them yourself free hand. It's MUCH easier to cut out a round corner if it's printed that way. Here's an example...

Thanks Ziggy. I like your work! And yes, they're loads of fun! I'm starting with NES, but I just started a SNES template and was messing around with DragonQuest V for kicks. I will definitely round the corners because freehand will definitely be more difficult. Thanks for your comments and advice!

I like these a lot. Any chance I could use them? I have started making my own repros of various game hacks, homebrews, and protos. These three titles are on my short list (particularly the Zelda, but I'll get around to doing all three).
