I'm having a hell of a time trying to export my flash videos as a .AVI or a .MOV. I've spent more than four hours trying to export this video. (almost twice as long as it took me to make it, including ripping the sounds) I'm going crazy here. Everytime I try to export to .MOV, one of three things happens:
1. Video studders. It'll lag for a bout a second or two, then it'll be fine, again.
2. Sound lag. THis is worse with .AVI exportations, but it happens with .MOV aswell.
3. The video has the last half-second of animation cut off.
I've tried many settings, I even found one that's perfect, no studder, no colour fuck up, nothing. Only problem, it'll only play in QuickTime. I can't open it in VLC to convert it to another format. I tried using video conversion apps to convert that file to .WMV/.AVI/.MPEG, no dice.
I've also tried many apps to convert the SWF to AVI/FLV/BS. There's always one problem after another with these. One app, Flash/SWF to Video Converter worked wonderfully, the problem was that it left a watermark. I don't have the funds right now to purchase random software and I don't want to pirate this software. (It wouldn't be easy, anyway. A quick Google search brought jack shit.)
If any of who can help, I'll GREATLY appreciate it.
Thanks for reading,
~GSZX1337
P.S. You wanna know what's really bullshit about this? My Flash is just a 9 and a half second video of Mega Man jumping on some blocks. That's it.

Try the programs here:
viewtopic.php?f=26&t=18616&p=208545
Youtube Downloader will dump a MP4 file (lossless)
I think it can convert to avi too, but I've never used that part of it.
Xvid4PSP can convert to and from many formats at excellent quality (fairly quickly compared to most other freeware). You can choose options for them easily (bitrate resize etc)
Just set it for AVI Hardware and choose whatever options you like from it's dropdown menus. It doesn't do mov tho.
For MOV encoding try Super. It converts to and from nearly all video formats. At one point the encoder got a bit crashy and some virus programs had false positives on its encoder engines and update check (it's been around over 5 years so it's ok despite rumours). I haven't installed it for years so maybe the new versions are good again but if you have problems try a much earlier version.

Re: Need Help Exporting Flash Video
If it opens in Quicktime, get your hands on a copy of Quicktime Pro and convert it again to a .mov and it'll work fine in anything. I've found that exporting to a .mov you often have to export the .mov again in Quicktime or else it won't play in much else. Plus it makes the file size smaller.

I also rent and sell PS2, Wii and XBOX softmod-kits and I collect DVD movies let me know what you have.
Re: Need Help Exporting Flash Video
I just use mencoder. Something like 'mencoder -oac copy -ovc copy -o video.avi video.flv' should work just fine.

Re: Need Help Exporting Flash Video
Thanks for the help, guys! I pirated QuickTime Pro (I don't mind pirating from Apple) and through a series of (many) conversions, I was able to finally get the video into .WMV format so it'll work with Windows Movie Maker. As for MEncoder, I never learned how to use it, and I didn't know it was available for Windows.
