You are right about the hori, but where did you read that about the madcatz? That would make it an instant buy for me - atleast two.

Edit:
Nevermind, found it - damn it popo, now I need to get another $160
I've got the Mad Catz for my PS3, and the pictures on Amazon included the back panel that describes the stick and includes an indication about the toggle switch.

The only games I have on my Wii that I want to use a stick on all already support the d-pad, so I have less of a need to get two of these instead of sticking with my two Horis.

well i brought this over to my friends house cuz he has a Wii and i played with the Wiimote and nunchuk since i couldnt find my gamecube controller. I like the game a lot, but theres a lot of buttons that do the same crap and i dont like how simple it is to bust out a 5 hit combo, all you have to do is tap A a bunch of times

Popo, add a Classic Linker Plus from Liksang, and now you can use your stick on damn near every Gamecube game. Sorry I have different plans in mind for the stick than most gamers. I see Monkeyball with a Joystick, more than I see Metal Slug.

This is a versus game - i.e.: "dial-a-combo".

5-hit is nothing. If you're not getting 30+ hits, you're not trying hard enough. This isn't World Warrior. :)

Enjoying this so far. For me personally this is the opposite of hyper competitive fighters. Its all about the silly combo's and crazy juggling. Compared to the footsy- turtle fest that is high level SF4 this is a nice break.

Huh? MvC2 is one of the most technically challenging fighting games ever.

I blog about games and art. Usually both at once. Check it out at your own risk.

The wiimote and nunchuk controls are simplified. Theres just attack and special attack as buttons. Using GC or Classic controls gives you light, medium and heavy attacks + partner buttons, and allows you a bit more depth to the fighting system.

I always did prefer Capcom's less serious fighters. More fun, more crazy, more arcadey(yeah, that's not a real word), more fast paced, etc. Somehow the versus games always seemed more at home in an arcade than Capcom's more serious fighters. When I lived in PA and went to the arcades, everyone loved the versus games and the games that inspired them(X-Men, Marvel Super Heores), while more technical fighters from Capcom and SNK generally got ignored. Some people would go to arcades back then for something crazy, loud, silly and ridiculous and the versus games fit the bill. There was still depth there for more serious players, but the scrub accessible gameplay and sheer insanity of everything you saw in those games really got a lot of people's attention

I think the Darkstalkers series hit a nice middle ground. A little technical but more flexible than the Street Fighters and had a fun craziness to it like the versus games

Well, considering the Marvel vs Capcom series basically used Darkstalkers as a base, this is no surprise. The only real difference is tagging and that they renamed "Hunter Chains" to "Variable Chains".

Of course, Darkstalkers never got near that popular. I bet it would have if they just put Ryu and Chun Li in as secret characters.
