Not a huge fan of speed runs, but this might be of interest to some of you. I don't know if anyone ever did a speed run for this game before

Wow -- JGR is a crazy game to do a speed run on. You have to have awesome timing to do some of the required jumps and such.Gamerforlife wrote:Not a huge fan of speed runs, but this might be of interest to some of you. I don't know if anyone ever did a speed run for this game before

I check out the site on a somewhat regular basis myself, but I rarely ever download or watch any of the vids because I'm not entertained by conventional speed runs. I made a whole topic about that.
However, there are certain games that I enjoy watching runs for because they go against the usual speed runs norms like Devil May Cry 3 S rank videos or Contra Shattered Soldier runs where you can't avoid combat or purposely take hits. It's because of games like that that I check the site regularly. Handy too if you're about to play a game like God of War on God mode and need some tricks. I found a certain God of War speed run more useful than any of the guides on gamefaqs were.
Anyway, I may actually watch this run myself. As you guys have pointed out, I doubt anyone can do a run for a game like JGR that wouldn't be fun to watch. My usual complaints about speed runs don't apply. Combat avoidance is what you're SUPPOSSED to do, and I don't think the player is going to want to take hits on purpose since it would actually slow you down in this game.
