Come now, no Powerstone or Dynamite Deka 2/Dynamite Cop? For shame.

Though I am partial to Toy Commander aswell. Dang it now I want to hook up a Dreamcast.

I see Shenmue has its supporters no matter what site you go to. That's cool, I could write a whole paragraph of stuff I didn't like about it, but there's no need for that in this topic. To each his own.

The DC really had a number of high quality titles. I would agree with the votes for Bangaio and Skies of Arcadia, and I loved Space Channel 5 and Crazy Taxi. Very high quality stuff. I gotta go against the votes for Grandia II though. I didn't think it was as charming as the original Grandia, and Skies of Arcadia was better. Though to its credit, it still had one of the best combat systems of any rpg.

You know what saddens me about the death of the Dreamcast? We lost the last console that had a strong library of arcade style games. I mean REAL arcade games, not the budget stuff on Xbox Live. With stuff like Crazi Taxi and Soul Calibur debuting on the DC and awesome games like Zombie Revenge, House of the Dead 2 and Power Stone, it was a dream machine for people who like arcade style games.

omg i fucking love zombie revenge. no joke i prolly spent 300 dollars playing that game total when it was at the arcades. man i miss the old school arcades. i remember when the irvine spectrum was brand spanking new. there was this arcade called Sega City. omfg i popped "joysticks" whenever i was in there. it was the first place i saw that had head to head VR competitions. it also had like a 5 man race tournament every week. it was an f1 game but i do not remember. lol then they had a circle of the virtua fighters lol. that was aweosmeo. man i wish they would bring it back. anyways NICE RECOMMENDATION on the E.G.G. that game is hands down as good as they come. i love the hand drawn backgrounds. the game was just so interesting. i wish it would have been thirty hours longer.

and nice one about toy commander as well. dam those tanks can be such assholes. i do not think anyone has said project justice or marvel vs capcom 1 and 2. i also like fur fighters and ecco. i am just gonna throw this one out there.....speed devils. i do not know if many like that game, but i fucking did. that game gave me hours of fun and some aggrivating points.

Shenmue was more like a demonstration of the future of gaming. But would you admit that Shenmue 1 and 2 would be the most ideal games to have while stranded on an island? I say that because these games require massive amounts of time and dedication to fully get into their worlds, and they can also fill the void in our social lives.

But the games are definitely love-em-or-hate-em types. I happen to love them.

I do think Toy Commander was a highly under-rated title. Sure, it had some quirks and could be hard at times, but it really let you explore so many different vehicles, challenges, and environments. Awesome title, especially with the split-screen mutli-player.

Agree with you there mate. The DC is the console to own to see Sega at their brightest.

And I cannot believe I forgot about Bangai O! Great game!

I only have so many tvs. Right now I have a saturn in my office, wii in the den, saturn in the entertainment room (which is a fancy name for storage). And soon the vs cocktail will be either in the office or entertainment room. All three monitors are used for pcs, which I use pretty much daily, my other monitors are on loan.

I guess it is time to buy more monitors/screens.
