I have not bought this yet simply becaue my Wii gets turned on about once every 2 months, but I was really looking forward to this down the road. That it doesn't have the print run of Mario Kart or other AAA 1st party Wii titles is going to convince me to pick it up soon.

Heads Up Collectors: Metroid Prime Trilogy

Post by DonSilvestre »

So I just saw this post on Joystiq today:

http://www.joystiq.com/2010/02/01/amazo ... #continued

Very interesting. It kind of looks like Nintendo is phasing (phazoning?) out the disc for unknown reasons. This game has not been out very long and already was sort of a collector's item - might be worth picking up a copy for any collectors out there. I may pick one up and keep it sealed since I own both gamecube games and MP3 for Wii already.

Shoot sorry guys - should have searched for this topic. I do think it's interesting though that Amazon is now pulling it due to Nintendo's request. I just noticed Pikmin 2 is worth a ton now (especially considering it was a player's choice title) so it's got me keeping a closer eye on Nintendo releases now.

That sucks. I actually have the Wii version of Pikmin. How much is it worth?

Also, will they still at least sell the single versions? Cuz Metroid Prime 1 and 2: Echoes were Wii-ized and Metroid Prime 3 is also a single release.

Has anyone ever thought that maybe it was pulled so they could rerelease all three games as single games? Maybe they're gonna tweak the first two so it looks better and also fix any flaws in the third game. Because you can't patch a retail game if it runs off of a disc.

I highly doubt it. They probably just pulled it because it was doing so poorly in sales... at least, poorly compared to other first-party Wii titles.

Went to my local Best Buy yesterday and they had two copies of Metroid Trilogy on the shelf. I bought one that I plan to keep sealed... never know!
