I LOVE MY AMIGA !

Post by norecess »

Hi guys,

It started by buying an Amiga 500.. then an Amiga CD-32 machine.. then finally bought back an Amiga 600 that I highly customized (flash drive, registered WHDLoad, ..).

I love the Amiga platform. There are games on it that can not be found elsewhere...

Pinball Dreams anyone?
Jim Power
Yo Joe!
Batman

Of course there are variants of those games on other platforms but only Amiga gave me the real fun I needed!

Is there someone else here in love with Amiga gaming?

It's something I'vew always wanted to try but the elitism of the scene scares me off, it's not Neo-Geo bad but it was bad in the nineties/early naughties.

What controllers does it use?

I loved mine back when I had one. But I havent had an Amiga for 15 years now. I almost had a CD32 a couple months ago but the seller backed out on me.

What is your favorite Amiga game? Mine was Cannon Fodder and during my anticipation for the cd32 I discovered Alien Breed.

There is a big hole in my collection, and it is named Commodore. I had to ditch all my C64/128 stuff when I left for college. I used an Amiga at school for a while too (can you say Zac McCracken?). Good stuff.

I have been hankering to get some Amiga stuff. How would you compare the Amiga 500 to the Amiga CD32? I imagine the best setup would be a 2000, but those end up being really expensive. Seems like the CD32 with the CD images of floppy disk conversions would be the best all around gaming machine, but I'm not sure.

Funny enough i did also start out with an Amiga 500 and got a cd32 later. And i've been thinking about getting an customized amiga 600 or an amgia 1200 with a ide hd.

Pinball dreams is still awesome and the later ones are great too.

Jim Powers is one of my favorite shooters even though i can't get that far but the soundtrack kinda drives you on. Much like Apidya.

Also check out Hero Quest that one has an awesome soundtrack.

It uses the same plugs as the genesis controller so any controller with a plug like that works.

Come to think of it I think any Atari 2600 type controller will work, Wico were the best ones.

Amiga company actually started out with a 2600 compatible miniature controller, got two of them with my SX64.
