Re: using a genny pad on pc
Wait, you just took the controller and plugged it straight into your pc? For that to work you'll need an adapter.
Re: using a genny pad on pc
That female 9-pin port on the back of your computer is a serial port. That won't work at all. With the right adapter and software you can hook the genesis pad up to the parallel port. Honestly, I'd just recommend getting a Saturn USB pad. It's close enough to the 6 button genesis, better actually.

I 2nd that. The USB Saturn is great for emulation.

I signed up to playsega.com to get their USB Saturn pad. The website kinda sucks, but the gamepad is great.
Re: using a genny pad on pc
Why is the genesis pad in that image flipped? Shouldn't the d-pad be on the left?GSZX1337 wrote:Just use this: http://www.retrousb.com/product_info.ph ... ucts_id=69
I heartily recommend the playsega pads. Cheaper than an adapter, and you don't have to worry about lag.

Sega Game Pad 9 pin connector will not work on serial connector or Sound card DB15 pin joy port.GSZX1337 wrote:Just use this: http://www.retrousb.com/product_info.ph ... ucts_id=69
As GSZX1337 wrote above try that site for Retro to USB. Looking at that link, the genesis Gamepad is backwards you might contact the seller.
Lot of USB gamepads (less expensive) out there.
