Well, I haven't been on this forum for awhile because of my latest showcase arcade project. I know most of you guys don't care for emulation, but its the only way to play a bunch of different systems like Namco, Neo Geo and Cps 1 and 2.
Its loosely based on the Dynamo showcase cabinet, its more like a slim, mini version of it. Its really nice and quite small, only 34 inches from front to back, its about the size of a normal upright cabinet.
I used Street Fighter Alpha 3 as the theme since its my favorite SF game, though Ive been loving SF3 Third Strike lately. I finally got to play Street Fighter IV on it, before my old graphics card was too old to play it.
Its mostly for fighters, but also for shmups, classic games, lightgun games, and beat em ups. I like the JPN 6 button layout, Sanwa joysticks, but it has Happ buttons too. The control panel is a simple 6 buttons without a bunch of different joysticks, buttons and clutter, you can't argue with simplicity.
Maybe in the future I'll add a Naomi kit or something else in the future, but I'm not sure how it would hook up to the LCD TV.
specs:
Cabinet: one-off design based off the Dynamo showcase cabinet, with slim monitor part
Monitor: 32 inch Hitachi 720p widescreen
Hardware: custom built PC- Core2Duo 2.8 ghz, 9500gt card, 2 gig ram, 250 hdd
Interface: Keywiz encoder
Sound: Logitech speakers with subwoofer
Software: Maximus Arcade frontend, Windows XP
Emulators:
*Final Burn Alpha
*NullDC (Dreamcast)
*Mame (I sometimes use it)
*Zsnes (Super Nes)
*KegaFusion) Sega Genesis, SegaCD, Sega 32X
*Batchfile (pc games)- SFIV, Stepmania, probably add more later like SoR Remake

so does this play light gun games
Re: I'm playing arcade fighting games on this!
Yes, it can by using this device called Aimtrak http://www.ultimarc.com/aimtrak.html It works in any light gun, it works kind of like a Wii and the computer sees it as a mouse. I have the Guncon light guns, but I haven't bought the Aimtrak modules yet, I heard good things about about this product.scrotumwound wrote:nice

I like the setup; it's nice and clean. It seems to me like the buttons are a bit too far from the bottom of the panel, but that's hard to judge from just the panel. And if it's comfortable for you, more power to you.

The buttons are a little bit higher than normal, but still very comfortable to play on. Thanks, I like simple control panels.MrPopo wrote:I like the setup; it's nice and clean.
