What can anyone tell me about the magnavox cd-i?

Post by girlracer »

I really don't know much about cd-i's but I noticed the philips tend to go for more than the magnavox. I just want one since I picked up hotel mario and zelda.

If you really want get one get one of the top load versions, magnavox or phillips and make sure it has the video cart. The other models internal batteries are dead or dying and are very hard to replace. Heres a link to some info on the batterry issue. http://www.cdinteractive.co.uk/forum/vi ... c&start=15
Plus the other models are a lot smaller and look more like a console. This is the best site to get more info http://www.philipscdi.com/players.htm

I hope that helps.

If I were to ever get a CD-i, it would be that 740 or 370

So basicly you're saying you are never getting a CD-i, because those two models are highly rare and expensive.

By the way the magnavox version is still made my phillips just with the Magnavox name. Goldstar also made a similiar one to the Magnavox version. They don't have IR but those controllers suck anyway.

I have the Magnavox CD-I and I really like it. Picked it up about 6 months ago and came with 3 games (one including hotel mario  ). The only reason I picked up the Magnavox CD-I compared to the other models was the size. The Magnavox CD-I is small, compact, and fits nicely on my shelf when not in use. The other models are fairly large and would take up too much space for me.

Hey, that looks pretty good, not a bad deal I'd say for such a pile. And games like Space Ace, 7th Guest, Voyeur, Escape from Cyber City and Dragon's Lair aren't all that bad either.
My only problem with this model is that huge adapter. That thing is a monster!

That's a really good bundle. I have the same model, but the lens doesn't work and came with an infrared controller but no receiver so have the games and can't play anything for those two reasons.
