The problem isn't the developers; It's the customers who try to play XBOX 360 on a SDTV. Get with the times already.

So because the developers refuse to increase the text size on the screen, customers should go out and buy $500 hdtv?

so now a ps3/360 cost $300+$500 at least, so the real place is $800?

I am under the impression that most users do NOT own an HDtv, so that means the games are being developed for the smaller percentage of the users. That doesn't make sense.
Even on the HDtv its tiny, but readable.

I'm surprised to hear this coming from you. You don't like the Wii because it doesn't advance technology much over the Gamecube, but you also don't like how the 360 and PS3 tried to be cutting edge and push new technologies such as HDTV. Make up your mind already.

If you don't want high definition games, don't buy high definition games! Go play on your low resolution Wii if you love SD so much. By the way, I just sold a very nice 1080i 32" LCD HDTV for $200 so it's not like HDTV's are super expensive. If you can afford to spend hundreds of dollars on an Xbox 360 and games, you should be able to afford an HDTV too.

am not complaining about the hd graphics, don't get me wrong.
I am just saying it doesn't hurt them to not make the text so tiny

a tv for $200?
Where in the world is that?

the cheapest tv i have seen yet is a NEW 32 , which is LCD but I think is not HD, from a dumb company called Ikon

also, i never complained that the Wii is in SD, I am complaining because no one puts the effort to make the best of Wii. Most games are extremely simply graphics

I just started playing a game I have been waiting to play before it was out, Assassin's Creed(the first),

So after playing some retro games, Wii games, GameCube games, I returned to the 360 .
The game looks really epic and amazing, I love epic setting(and anything epic really, and I hope this is the right word I am looking for), but I can see how my CRT TV is holding back a lot of the graphics.

I can't make a comparison , but I want those who played games HD games on both CRT and HD tv's how much am I missing. The thing that bothers me most is how tiny the text is in HD games.

I can buy an HDtv if i wanted to, but I really like this one. I can play all the VC, Dreamcast, N64, VHS no worries, and I like being old school. Plus its not that old of a tv something like 5-6 years old and the picture is really good.

I can't have 2 TV's, because there is no place for it, not to mention there is nothing HD that I watch other than 360 games, I got no bluray player, no HD channels, and I don't see its worth the investment really, because I still find DVD of a really high quality.

but back to the main topic, how do you feel/think about CRT tv used for HD games.
I can tell you that its OK when the games are not putting the most of the console with simpler graphics like Halo and Viva Pinata , but when the games are trying to push the console to do its best with a lot of detail like in Assassin's Creed and Bayonetta you can notice it that you need clearer picture.
I am using component .
HD CRT's definite improvement over regular TV, especially when you make use of Component cables. For Retro game Systems LCD's do tend to show a lot of dot crawl.

See my link below , I wrote a huge article on this subject.

I do think you are missing out. The artistry and technical achievements in the best new games today is amazing. If you spend most of your time playing 360/PS3 games, I think you should go for it.

I'll also say this. I was in your same boat - I can't have two tvs in my living room. When I got my plasma I ended up moving all but one (SNES via S-video) of my retro consoles into the back room with a 19 inch CRT and I will admit it has led to me playing them a lot less. But I don't regret it. When you're staring in awe at your stunning surroundings in Uncharted 2, neither will you.

Yeah I know but I do not most gaming in NON-360 games.

Those systems I use for gaming:
Wii: Wii games, GC, Homebrew
Dreamcast
N64
360: Xbox games, and then 360 games

Honestly I think 360 games are the least I play thats why I am not jumping ship , I do agree that HD tv is better, but its going to ruin the other consoles for me.
Also VHS :p
I am retro everything

but thanx for the help every one

If you do go the HD route maybe go CRT for those Retro machines. If possible get one that has VGA in and get the VGA box for Dreamcast. Resolution will jump up to 640x480. Most newer LCD HD's do not support lower 640x480 resolution. Not all DC games support VGA so look for a VGA box that also has S-video out. Than you have choice of either input available dpending on game.

Here's a comparison of Wii Zelda with Component on the left, Composite on the right.

I already use component whenever I can, it makes a huge difference if you ask me
its on my Wii for gamecube, vc, and Wii games, and its on my 360, and used it before on origin xbox.
but its all in SD no HD.

As for my problem I grew accustomed to Assassin's creed's graphics on SD. As a matter of fact I seem them as beautiful now. I am not sure why, maybe because I jumped from playing gamecube game to a 360 one, and suddenly there was so much detail and texture that made me unable to concentrate or view things clearly. Also the slow movement of "altair" made it as if the game is heavy with graphics and is having hard time loading images.

HDTV, no contest.

EDIT: Soul Calibur on Dreamcast is the only game I've seen that looks *better* at a less than optimal resolution; i.e 480i looks much nicer than VGA
