Absolute worst format you can get CD games in. Are there no mp3's along with it?

My Amiga Cd32 is very picky on brands and Verbatim did not work at all. Tdk however worked very well. Might be worth a look considering cd32 is even older than 3do.

Cause you're suppose to have mp3's with the ISO... something about the ISO not being able to read the audio. Where are you getting the images from? Maybe you can find them some where else in a better format like BIN/CUE.

Also, are there any 3DO emulators that work enough to test a game image before you burn it? Saves a lot of time and wasted CDs when you can find out if an image is bad before you try burning it.

Burn at a slower rate, 10x will get you tons of problems. All of the audio the files I used for my 3DO are .wav, not .mp3. Im not so sure 3DO can read mp3s. Anyway, make sure the disk images are good by using an emulator or only downloading them from respectable sources, like UG, and download files that have some good feedback.

You could also try to obtain a legitimate copy of a game to make sure you unit is reading anything other than music CDs

Whenever you download a Saturn, Sega CD, etc game in ISO/music/cue format, the music is in mp3 (presumably to save bandwidth when downloading). You usually have to convert the mp3 into wav before you burn. So like I said, ISO/mp3/cue is the worst format you can get.

EDIT: Did you try cleaning the laser, too? You should.

When you get a legit copy, if it plays in your system fine, you should rip it to BIN/CUE and then burn it (really slow). This way, if it still doesn't work, you know your 3DO doesn't like the brand of disc you're using and not that it's a bad image or whatever.

Yeah, i spend some time to convert the files to .wav so the older systems can read them, which also means you have to remake the .cue file

It's just a major pain in the ass. Not to mention since it's been compressed to mp3 the quality suffers a little. I also read that the ISO is very easy to break, which is probably why bad images are common using this format.

You should definitely try cleaning your laser, if you haven't already done so.

i've been wanting to pick up a 3do and after some research a common error when burning is telling your program to finalize the disc so it will burn the whole cd. and out of dao and tao, tao seems like the most compatible. something to try...

Tried that. It didn't work either. It might be that the game I'm trying to burn isn't compatible with the Goldstar Model, so I'm gonna try a different game.
