Very true. Some of these also run great in Project 64, with higher resolutions and the ability to add texture packs. I always liked playing Mario 64 in 1280x1024.fastbilly1 wrote:Looking over that list, most of the good ones are on the VC. That kinda hampers my thrill of this.

I'm thrilled. I don't have a Wii. And I don't play emu's on my PC. So this sounds incredible to me.

Yeah, I didn't mean it as discouragement. You should go for it. It'd be an interesting project.noiseredux wrote:I'm thrilled. I don't have a Wii. And I don't play emu's on my PC. So this sounds incredible to me.
I wouldn't mind modding my GCN either. I'd love to import Mr. Driller Drill Spirits.

I'm still trying to figure out if I need to mod it. I mean, will Action Replay, etc allow me to read burned mini-DVDR's?

I know you can chip it, and I have heard of people doing it with the freeloader or action replay. Ill look into it and see if I can find anything later.
Re: Mario Kart 64 Gamecube!?
I would just chip it. I have a chip for mine and came across some games on purple cube. A few of them have covers made up like that one. I downloaded Yoshi's Story but it didn't work for me.

Those are found in the misc section of this download list...

There are some other games floating in alphebetically. Like, Ocarina of Time is under "T" for "The Legend of Zelda," so maybe you'll find more 64 games through out that list.
edit: woops, just realized the Ocarina of Time is the Cube version.

Re: Mario Kart 64 Gamecube!?
that's what I like about it. I wouldn't bother if it was just an emu and some roms on an SD card. But given that they can be their own discs with nice GC cover art, it just seems like an awesome collectible item.Ziggy587 wrote:I would just chip it. At any rate, I know NOTHING about mod chips. Any console modding I've ever done was soft-mods.
Re: Mario Kart 64 Gamecube!?
I'm sure you could get some one to install the mod chip for you, it isn't too hard at all. I edited my above post, by the way, to include some more info.

That's the chip you would want.

wow, Zigs. Sounds perfect. By "wireless install" do they mean "no need to solder?" Too bad it's Out Of Stock! Dammit.Ziggy587 wrote:I'm sure you could get some one to install the mod chip for you, it isn't too hard at all. I edited my above post, by the way, to include some more info.

Also, I wonder why they made a GC disc of Occarina of Time, considering it's already available on the Collector's Edition Disc?

No, it means that you don't need to use wires to connect the chip up. You directly solder a few contacts to the drive board.noiseredux wrote: wow, Zigs. Sounds perfect. By "wireless install" do they mean "no need to solder?" Too bad it's Out Of Stock! Dammit.
