This is exactly the reason.

I'm probably one of the harsh members here, because I'd rather have people go elsewhere than have a gamefaqs situation. As for the original poster of this thread, I welcome him even though some of us (me) have come on very strong.
THE FUNNY THING IS I AM 38 AND I BET 80% OF YOU PEOPLE ARE KIDS TO ME...
I'd wager to guess that much less than half of the regulars here are "kids" to you. A lot of us have kids.

There are certain things we dislike, of course. Generally we frown on all caps for instance, because it conveys yelling and anger, such as in your case, where you used it to convey those emotions. Now your reason for using it is understandable, but using it for every post would be frowned upon.

We're sorry if we come off a bit harsh...it's just that many of the folks here have seen what can happen at websites where there is little to no moderation. We don't want to see this site become just another GameFAQS or 4chan, so we tend to ask for better grammar, less foul language, etc. We want a friendly place, though it sometimes comes at the expense of other folks, and some of our older members can sometimes be harsh to the newer guys who don't know their way around yet. In certain extreme cases we've had to ban people, though it's usually only after a considerable amount of problems, including multiple reprimands.

If you feel there's been a problem with a particular member, please contact a moderator and explain what's going on. If it happens to be a mod, contact a different one and explain your side Hopefully we can get everything cleared up and have a positive website where everyone can benefit.
i am not mad and i know that there should be mods and rules for that matter but people need to assess a certain situation before cracking jokes or making fun of a "young collector". also i know what typing in all caps means and if it was taken into consideration that this was a younger person a different approach should have been taken.
i dont have any problems with anyone and i can say i did not curse when i made my post and i am not getting all childish like the guy who posted something to the effect "and who are you?" why isnt that responded to by a mod?? by all means i see how professional that responce was. i am not new here just new to posting here i have read all the articles and now i decided to sign up nick is a sub to my youtube channel. and i dont come here to talk about problems or "yelling at fat people who cant put shopping carts away" which that post had like 30 curse words alone in it. my point is you guys need to be more recieving of a newbie than one who has endured all of the embarrassment of being one.
i certainly did not come here to make friends i came here to talk about games.
i love how people want to jump on my back and make snide comments but really all you are doing is making yourself look bad. i am glad to see this young person has some good games to start off with and not all of us can buy a gross amount of games we all arent born with silver spoons i have been collecting games since i was 7 yers old thats 31 years of collecting games so having over 800 games isnt that much in that span of time.
infact i will donate some doubles i have for my nes collection for this young person! who here will match game for game??

Is that a Game boy Video cartridge underneath your TV? I heard they won't work right with the Gamecube's Game boy Player. Will yours play on your TV?
