If you go to the Collection of Guides thread that is stickied in the Tech Help forum, you will find a link to a guide to hack your PSP.

The God Of War PSP is the 2000 model and can definitely be modded via ChickHen (My son has one and I've done it for him). The ChickHen hack is just a couple files you copy to your memory stick (Phat models can also be modded this way but you use a special phat file for the exploit). Basically you just put the files in the correct directory and browse to them and the PSP will reboot with custom firmware and then you can use Hellcats Recovery tool to make it permanent. It's trivial to do the only issue is that sometimes you need to try to browse to the files a couple times until it "catches". Here is a guide I found by googling. It seems to cover everything, you might like to look for a couple other guides as well.

ChickHEN can be used to permanently install CFW on phat PSP and 2000 models. I have done both. I know it can also be used with 3000 models but I'm not sure if it can be permanent or not with them.

Wait, so theres a hack to hack the hack, so the hack can hack at all times?
That sounds legal.

Nah, unless you do something really idiotic, like letting the battery run out or turning off the system or flushing it down the toilet mid flash you'll be pretty safe. If for some reason it bricks through no fault of your own, you can still use a Pandora battery to unbrick.

Still not sure what version PSP you have (I know it was being discussed through out this thread) and if you HAVE to use the ChickHen hack... but if you can just use the "normal" method to flash the CFW then you'll be completely safe. I flashed mine using the "universal unbrick" method (which is used to fix bricked PSPs) so there's very little chance of bricking.

And, as said, even if you brick you can fix it.

And I also always mention this in every PSP thread... the CFW scene is a little hard to get info for on the web. There's a TON of outdated pages. There's been more than one occasion where I was trying to get something working on my PSP for hours before I finally read a page that said "XXX1" method is outdated, use "XXX2" instead. Kinda of a pain in the ass.
