Anyone ever revive a stuck pixel?

Post by jp1 »

I have one on my psp that is driving me MAD. It is green and right in the middle of the screen. It is only noticeable on black or very dark screens but I am still very picky about having one there at all. I tried some video that flashes a color cycle quickly and left it on a loop overnight many times and it didn't help at all.

Any pointers?

I hear you can massage them out with firm pressure but the 3 or 4 times I've opened game systems up and tried it it"s never worked for me.

Some people say it's possible. I've never been able to get rid of the gray pixel on my PSP. Luckily it's not right in the middle and I only ever notice it on completely black/white screens.

Unfortunately Sony won't admit fault or replace them unless you have more than 5 or something stupidly high like that. Rediculous. This may have changed but this was the state of play back when the PSP launched in the UK. Compared to a company like Samsung who will replace the entire panel if there is just 1 bad pixel makes Sony look like the shitty company they really are.

At least when LCD monitors were still fairly new and cost $1000, it was very common to have a threshold of 3-5 dead pixels before a screen would be rejected or replaced by a manufacturer.
