Arcade Ports that are on PS3 and WII , help me gen a list

Post by s8n »

howdy people , im looking to generate a list of Arcade Ports that are on PS3 and WII as im thinking of buying them both and hooking them up to my Cab. About 2 months ago i was almost going to get a 360 which has many Ports but what stopped me is they suck Hardware wise , all i would see in the XBOXscene forums is people complaining about broken 360s. Im hoping one day M$ release a new Revision claiming better Hardware inside and so on.

So yeah im looking to get a list of games for PS3 and WII , please exclude games that are already emulated on PC.

any info helps

How do you plan on controlling the Wii in your cab? Hacked Classic Controllers/Arcade sticks, Hacked Gamecube Controllers, or Hacked Wiimotes?

Well if you do Gamecube controllers you can also do Gamecube games, but not all the Wiiware and some Wii titles. If you do Classic Controllers it is vice versa.

I suggest doing both and mounting them in kit boxes and make them swapable (which I imagine you are doing anyway). This way you can get titles like Ikaruga on the Cube and Bubble Bobble Plus on the Wii (Wiimote and CC only).

roger that , yes i am using Kit Boxes theyre easy to move around instead of a bare Controller with multi wires hanging off of it.

Im going to stick to the Dreamcast to run Ikaruga as the Gamecube version has nasty sound , it is downsampled from memory.

Ill probably use Classic Controllers with the info you supplied about GC Controllers not being able to run all games

I have about 7 Gamecubes so ill use them to run GC stuff and leave a WII to run WII gear.

thanks for your info and suggestions its good to know

I have a list of games I was going to run in one of my cabs if I hacked up CC's on a computer back home. Ill post it later when I get a chance.

Well popo just brought up something to me that invalidates all of my research. The Tatsunoko vs Capcom US sticks made by MadCatz lets you use the joystick as the dpad or EITHER joystick (pre a flip of a switch). Couple that with something like the Classic Linker Plus (which takes a classic controller and turns it into a gamecube controller) and you should be able to control damn near any Gamecube game with the joystick - and many wii games that you couldnt already, cough Metal Slug Anthology. The setup will run you $100ish though

If only it had fully remappable buttons it would be perfect, but Ill take what I can get this is awesome.

Consoles in cabinets is a nice cheap way of simulating your own home arcade.

I've got a Candy cab wired to take PS1, PS2 and Wii, and I'll be building another soon to take my PS3 (Vewlix clone is the plan at the moment). I also have a scratch-built cabinet for one of my Dreamcasts.

My candy uses hacked PS1 controllers for PS1 and PS2, and I use converters to GameCube for the Wii.

Games I've got that play well in a cabinet (in particular, arcade ports or their sequels):

Wii:
Ghost Squad
House of the Dead 2&3 return
House of the Dead 4
Tatsunoko vs Capcom

PS3:
Street Fighter 4
King of Fighters Xii
Battle Fantasia
Virtua Fighter 4
Super SF2 Turbo: High Def Remix (PSN)

Others you could go for:
Soul Calibur 4
Matt Hazard: Blood Bath and Beyond (PSN)
1942 Joint Strike (PSN)
Tekken 5 BR (PSN)
Tekken 6

You need analogue input for these, but they're arcade titles too:
GTI Club +
Afterburner Climax (announced, but not out yet)
