Because it's not my call to make. It's the British people's call. I could have wrote that like this:
Bikaz its nat mai kol tou meik. its the britis pipls kol.
Because that's how you would write that if you used Greek letters to make the same sounds. It wouldn't be correct to anyone but my ear.
And also, it's a joke that a 1 mb rom costs 8 € and I bought the Sega Ultimate Mega Drive collection with 40 of those roms for 20 € (shipment included)

So it's apparently your call to have languages be more complex, but not your call to have them be simple and efficient?ZeroAX wrote:Because it's not my call to make. It's the British people's call.

Ok fellas, this conversation has taken a bit of an odd turn, and while I don't necessarily care for where the original topic had gone, I've gotten an impression of hostility in where it's going. I suppose it's time we go back to arguing over whether the Wii is a good or a bad thing.
Re: Wii: A failure
Alright, I guess I'll start up the Wii hate wagon again...
Even though I'm really trying to get a Wii again, I'm not willing to spend any more than $100 for it - and that's because that's all I see it being worth.
I'm getting one for Tatsunoko vs Capcom, plain and simple. That is the catalyst, and it is the only reason want one. I pretty much live on arcade games, and TvC is definitely that. Aside from that, though, I don't have much to look forward to, whether we're looking at the past or the future.
King of Fighters Orochi Saga - It'd be cool to have all these on one disc, and the Wii version is superior to the PS2 version. However, I know 95% of my time would be spent playing either KOF'97 or KOF'98 - both of which I already own on the Saturn and Dreamcast. I'd rather spend my money on KOF'98 Ultimate Match.
Samurai Showdown Anthology - Already got it on the PS2. If I get a Wii, I'll probably get this, but it isn't going to sell me on a system.
Metal Slug Anthology - No classic controller support really turned me off of this one. I'd rather spend the extra for the PS2 version.
Ultimate Shooting Collection - Containing Chaos Field, Karous, and Radirgy, this would be a no brainer... if I didn't already own all of those. Another that I'll probably get after I get a Wii, but just isn't going to sell a Wii to me.
Data East Arcade Classics - I'd be getting it for Magical Drop III... which I already have on the Saturn. Not a bad collection, though.
Super Guilty Gear XX 2 Turbo: Grand Master Challenge For Matching Service Revival - Dead tired of Guilty Gear. I still love Arc System Works, but I've had more than my fair share of Sol and gang.
Aside from that, not seeing much I want. Still waiting on F-Zero, Star Fox or Mother to appear - I'm tired of Mario, Zelda and Metroid.
Also, the Wii Shopping Channel is a joke. I've seen better games on the iPhone than WiiWare, and the prices for Virtual Console titles is just ridiculous. Utterly, utterly ridiculous.

Re: Wii: A failure
We must have similiar taste in the games because I own all the Wii games you mentioned other then TvsC and Data East, but I will be getting both. I love the Wii though. Hey, some of the Rebirth wiiware titles are great. I personal like Toki Tori.the7k wrote:Alright, I guess I'll start up the Wii hate wagon again...

Also, I find the pricing on VC games to be quite appropriate. Remember Nintendo doesn't care about a singular human being they care about their entire install base.
90% of said current install base either traded-in threw all of their old consoles out as soon as the next gen hit the shelf or never owned them during their original run. Therefore to most people including myself paying $7 for a copy of Super Mario Kart on VC is cheaper than paying the $20 plus or $15-$20 it commands at online re-sellers and at local flea markets respectively.
My Consoles:
Genesis - Nomad - SegaCD - GameGear - Sega Saturn - Dreamcast - NES - SNES - N64 - Gamecube - Wii - Playstation - PSone & LCD - PS2 - PS3 - Xbox - 3DS

Never heard of this Bit Trip Beat - if I ever get my hands on a Wii again, I'll look into it.Mod_Man_Extreme wrote: Play Bit Trip Beat, proceed to eat your words.

Ya know, I bought a lot of VC games while I had a Wii. Ended up spending close to $150 on games that I mostly already had - I was just paying for the convenience of not having to hook up my retro systems everytime I wanted to play Streets of Rage 2 or Star Fox 64. Then, after getting a PS3, I realized just how overpriced it all was.
$6 for a PSX game, or $8 for a SNES game. I dunno man, I just see a huge gulf there. It began to urk me how little I was getting for as much as I was paying on the Wii compared to the PS3, especially after getting Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection, which would have probably run me $100+ on the Wii. And then there's Gunstar Heroes - $8 on the Wii with no enhancements, or $5 on PS3/360 with Achievements/Trophies, Leaderboards and HD Filters.
After casting off the Virtual Console, that was about the time I stopped with the Wii altogether. After beating whatever single-player experiences, all there really was to play over and over again was Smash Bros. - and one can only take so much of that. I started playing a lot more Gamecube games than Wii games, and that's when I decided, "Hey - what point is it having a Wii if all I do is play Gamecube games? I've still got a Gamecube." And that's when I sold it. First time I ever sold a console, and it wasn't even dead yet.

Re: Wii: A failure
also PAL VC sucks. All the games run at 50hz with the exception of NTSC imports (every Turbographx-16 game and the unreleased in Europe games, like Super Mario RPG). So when I bought a new HD TV, and hooked up the Wii with a component cable for a better picture, non of the 20 50hz games I bought would work. I mean FFS. That meant I would have to change the cable + change the channel + change the wii video settings + change the TV aspect ratio every time I wanted to play a retro game. I mean come on you cheap pricks. Why not release the 60hz versions? AAAAAAAAAAAARGHHHHH

Re: Wii: A failure
Your TV must be pretty shitty. I have no problem running all my VC titles (I hundreds of them on an 8GB SD). I have a Panasonic Viera. I also use the component cable. They run in 576i mode compared to the 480p mode of the Wii itself if that helps?ZeroAX wrote:also PAL VC sucks. Re: Wii: A failure
now you are going to make me cry :'(. I don't know if i'm doing something wrong with the settings, but I've read online that a lot of people are having the same problem, and nintendo's solution amounts to this "oups. too bad".
I have this tv http://www.amazon.co.uk/LG-32LG5000-Wid ... B0015X615E btw. (strange I bought it for 500€ over a year ago and this is really expensive)
