I WISH that there was a program that could patch any NTSC-J DC game into english. There are INCREDIBLE Japanese titles that the DC has to offer that I WISH were patched in ENGLISH version, such as:
- deSPIRIRA
- Sorcerian
- Rune Jade
- Legend of the Blade Masters
- etc...
DOES ANYONE know if there is a way? A way at all? lolol? I even considered learning the Japanese language for the sole purpose of playing these games.. But unfortunately it's no walk in the park and it's a very complex language, let alone an extremely prolonged learning experience.. So I give up, I'm stuck. Unless anyone knows of anything that I haven't heard of..

Re: Japanese Dreamcast Games, WOW!!
There will not be some universal magical patch to translate any Japanese game into English.
I'm sure there is a program to change the region of the disc, though if you using a backup I don't know if that matters as most backups are region-less or can be played on any system anyways.
For those specific games there may or may not be fan translations. The dreamcast was a very popular system to "hack" so I am sure it is possible that there are fan translations for some games, though I can't really say which ones.

Yeah, there's LOADS of games, not just on the Dreamcast, that I wish were translated into English.
On the Dreamcast, one would have to be Napple Tales. For a platformer, it's really text-heavy. There's probably others, but none I can think of off-hand.
For the Saturn, tons of RPGs and some adventure games.
But for the Wii, they're working on a translation patch for Fatal Frame that uses only an SD card and doesn't need any modding.

Right there with ya. Such a wonderful game... such a shame it never made it to our shores.
Unfortunately, the only CD-based system I see a lot of translation patches made for is the PlayStation. I remember a patch for Samurai Showdown RPG on Neo Geo CD, but aside from that, almost everything I've seen has been PSX.

It's actually done http://zero4.higashinoeden.com/index.html. Not that it's any help for DC games, I'm not sure if there's any fan translations for the DC even.

I dont remember who said it but I think it is the best reason for this. The statement was that cd based games do not get translated until there is a suitable emulator for the console. Savestates and disc images work alot better than spindles of cds.
