PAL games not working properly on DREAMCAST NTSC system.
I have a DC NTSC system that was manufactured before 2000. SO I can play burned games without having a mod chip. However, I can play some PAL games on it without any issues, but when I try to play certain PAL games that I've burned, it creates a constant flicker on the screen. I can see the menu and intros of the game, but it's as if it's constantly flickering over and over and over, would a MOD chip fix this problem? By the way, these are all bruned .CDI format.

The games that don't work probably don't have a 60hz option. What games are you trying to play that are Pal that you cant get on ntsc anyway?

Does your TV support 50Hz?

I don't think my TV supports 50Hz, I need to look inot the menu settings.. Record of Lodoss and some other fighting game where you're some guy with a sword, like a ninja guy, I forgot the name of the game, but I believe it's a NTSC-J game. It's similar to Draconus: Cult of the Wyrm. I'm still lookin on the net for the name of this particular game, 'cause it's been a while since I burned the 2 particular games, then just gave up, lol. Now I want to go back and retrace my steps! haha!

YES!!!!!! YOU NAMED IT!! THANK YOU SO MUCH! That game flickers too!!! Would a MOD chip correct this?

Unfortunately, if its the signal to your television that's the problem, then the only thing you can do is try a different TV. I had the same problem with a PAL game I picked up for the N64, where I'd get massive amounts of screen flicker whenever I started it up. About a month later, I managed to upgrade my television, and the game now works perfectly on the new one. Any newer televisions you have in the house you can test on?

lol, no, unfortunately not. I will have to do without for now, until I can upgrade. Maybe when my income tax comes in!!

Ah, sorry to hear that. No friends or family that have a new tv to try?
Either way, sorry I can't be of more help. Maybe somebody else will think of something.

Ok, yea I have family and friends with newer TVs. But just to get it straight here, PAL is 60 Hz, and NTSC is 50Hz? So it has nothing to do with the console system at all?
