Saturn with an HDTV
Saturn with an HDTV
Hey I recently purchased a new LCD HDTV a Samsung LN-T3242H. I have never played Saturn on and hdtv. What is the best advice someone can give me in regards to upgrading my a/v cables. Is S-Video my best bet? I have been tying to do some research into rgb but as i understand it that could get a bit complicated. Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you
Re: Saturn with an HDTV
I would say that S-video is your most practical solution, unless your TV happens to support RGB inputs (not to be confused with Component, despite the cable colors). Even so, with high quality cables, upgrades above s-video become increasingly negligible. It is rewarding hooking up these older systems to modern equipment, but the results are not always desirable. These systems were designed to be played on small CRT technology -- which performs a little bit of its own natural anti-aliasing, especially with the blur from a composite or RF cable. And while I find CRT to be blinding, it can make regeistering whats happening on the screen easier. I would hope, and insure that you have a fair amount of space between yourself and the screen.
I've hooked my Saturn up to our 110" wide (horizontal, not diagnol) projector screen. About 18' away its all good.
