iPad?
Re: iPad?
So this is like an XL iPhone, without the phone features and no multitasking? I already have an iPhone, that makes calls/SMS and multitasks (thanks to jailbreak) so what is the point?

I don't get the market in this. Same as Kindle or Sony E-reader.AmishSamurai wrote:Well, the mysterious Apple Tablet has finally been unveiled.

Don't use iTunes, but the inclusion of ebooks is kind of cool though. Jobs is actively trolling his fanbase, and proud of it.
Why not buy a cheaper laptop that can do this and a lot more?

Re: iPad?
Form factor. The kindle is more comfortable for reading text on due to it's contrast ratio and shape. A laptop simply isn't any good for this type of thing. I hate reading ebooks on my PC/Laptop. It's just not comfortable for long periods.CRTGAMER wrote:I don't get the market in this. also- they can't add flash. You might see a naked person on the internet.Dylan wrote:Charging someone to use flash is like charging someone to breathe air. It's too big to put in your pocket but not really the sort of thing you'd work at a desk with either...

Re: iPad?
The whole idea seems horribly underwhelming. I haven't bought any apple products so far and I don't plan to.
Re: iPad?
After i cooled down a bit about everything i don't like about the ipad, i kind of realized that this just isn't for me. The kindle isn't for me either.
This is the kind of computer for someone who just wants to surf the web, check their e-mail, and have the occasional pop-cap game, e-book, or multimedia thing.
If it were a book, it would be a coffee table book. It is a coffee table computer. A computer for my dad who is using a PC from 1998.

You all got massively trolled. But it's ok, it's just a video trick. They didn't show off the iPad. The showed off the iPhone being held by the new Steve Jobs Nano.

rofl on the joke
the ipad is a joke and apple fanboys are already drooling over it. what the fuck more does it have over a netbook that costs 300$ or a laptop at 500$? I know some people said form factor and a few more will say portability, but isn't the iphone supposed to be just that? and really the touch keyboard sucks. even the people with iphones for a long time can't type fast with that thing.
now as an ebook thingy it will probably be great but personally I don't like ebooks. I want the real thing to take with me to bed or the toilet. also like video games, I want the physical thing as a collection. now university books... those just take space... and lack a search function. yeah those need to be digital. but I like my fiction books on paper
