I still don't understand what this has to do with kids.

As soon as my oldest nieces can operate a trackball they get an Imac G3 with Scummvm loaded up on it. Starting the kids off right. Learning games first, then, in a year or so, they get Kings Quest.

I tried to get my GF's daughter to play Freddy Fish. Her reaction "This is hard! What do I do?!" Blah. She knows everything there is to know about Pokemon though.

I've made my baby cousins huge sonic fans. Mega Drive Sonic fans
(via pc emulation). Though the older one seams to prefer Mario.
2D Platform games are really the best genre for kids and someone who is starting out playing video games in general.

Luke, if I can get this whole shebang working, Ill build you one too - at cost of course.
The goal is, push the button and it boots into Scummvm. The problem is I cant get a suitable version of linux to install on it. All Ubuntu's past 5.04 crash after the bootloader for unknown reasons, and 5.04 cant run Scummvm. Ill get it working eventually.
And before someone says it, OS8 and OS9 are both still $99 from Apple, and $40ish on ebay.

Tried plain old Debian? For a single purpose kiosk, you don't need all the bells and whistles that come with Ubuntu. Just install the basic netinst cd, apt-get install xorg, dpkg -i the scummvm .deb, drop it in your .xinitrc (no real need for a window manager in there even) and you're good to go.

Like all other religions, Scientology thinks being gay is bad. Of course it's because they would like scientolgists to have lots of kids, which would lead to making their wallets fatter.Luke wrote: Scientology is a whole different level of weird. Some, not the majority but a good chunk, of my friends in LA say that Scientology is nothing but a cult to help hide homosexual relationships. I've no clue to what actually goes on with Scientology, but I do know it's helped a lot of actors who seem super gay to find a woman to love them. And what I do about Scientology is limited, because people in Scientology don't want you to know unless you pay them.
I've been bisexual my whole life but it wasn't until a few years ago I realized it. Scientology and society in general caused me to suppress my gay side most of my life.
You can't be gay and religious. It's one or the other.

You may be on to something there. I know my way around in linux, but am by no means any more than a hobbyist - sans Knoppix. Ill give debian ppc port a go in tomorrow. Thanks
And Luke I did have the oldest one calling me Uncle Scrooge - or some sort of statement of it (she is only 19 months).
