Just go ahead and sell your Wii, since you can't even be optimistic at all for it.
Optimism? How long have you been into video games?

Always be pessimistic. It's the best policy. You can never be disappointed, and if you always expect the worst, you'll almost always be right.

This isn't even Wii-specific; this applies to all things in life.

I am generally optimistic but then I don't expect as much as a lot of gamers. I am satisfied with simple games like Donkey Kong and Pac-Man. Yeah being pleasently surprised is great, but something that exceeds great expectations is even better. I was pessimistic as a teen and I don't need that in my life anymore. I left my console bashing back in 93 (SNES rulz, Genesis drools). I have been into videogames since 85, with a down period of 98-01, not that that matters at all.

How is expecting the worst making you always right? If the game is great your right if you thought it would be bad? :? If I assume the worst out of a game why would I even want to try it and find out the truth? So if I go by your train of thought I would have to lower my expectations, not be pessimistic. That I agree to, not focusing on the negative and the gloom. I am also the reverse though I am never for hype.

Pessimism involves having lowered expectations. Also, I didn't say expecting the worst would make you always right. I said expecting the worst would almost always make you right. There's a key word in there.

After all, all you have to be is mostly right, if that. If someone says that ten completely outrageous things will happen this year, and only one of them happens, everybody is going to say that person predicted the future and will completely forget about the nine things they got wrong.

As a gamer and collector, you should know that I'd never sell a system.

And, I've been optimistic for years. I'd love it if every one of those games ruled but, looking at the track record for the Wii, it's hard to be optimistic (Conduit et al).

The Wii still has a bright future. Nintendo seems to be going out of their way to please the hardcore gamers this year, and so do third-party companies. I'm really excited for Namco's Wii RPG lineup, and Metroid: Other M is probably my most anticipated Wii game at this point.
