I actually haven't played either one yet, but personally I can't wait to get my hands on the new 2d Mario! But, I'm just not too excited about another call of duty or another fps. I guess I'm not "hardcore" enough (at least that's what my friends say, which is funny because out of all my friends I have the largest game and console collection out of any of them). Oh well, I guess that's why I hang out on racketboy.

but the thing is most people who will want to buy MW2 probably have already bought it in that month. NSMBW will just keep on selling. Who would have though that Regi would be right.

Still, I have to admit I'm surprised at how well New Super Mario Bros Wii has sold. I'm a huge fan of 2D platformers though so it's all good news.

By comparison to MW2, New Super Mario Bros. must seem like a breath of fresh air. Still yet to play either but I'm much more excited by Mario Bros.

The "hardcore" gamer seems to define themselves as: graphic whores, the only type of game they play are fps, and they are insanely jealous over the Wii's success.

It's amazing that after three years the Wii is STILL a gimmick, the Wii only caters to the "casual" crowd, and Wii gamers MUST be stupid for not bowing down at the newest fps graphic powerhouse.

I beat NSMB Wii on Saturday and got ALL the star coins! It is an amazing game. Nintendo is the only publisher that has figured out how to make a game that appeals to ALL type of gamers.

When was the last time a 2D game sold so much?
I mean at 10 million it probably beat the numbres of Mario/Sonic in their hay day.
Plus, 10 million units, isn't that like more than Mario Galaxy?

I am equally amazed that MW2 sold so much too, I mean its really same old same old, its almost the same game COD4, and there are hundreds of similar games.

While MW2 developers are putting so much work in graphics and level design to make so many sales, how much work do you think Nintendo put in making a 2D Mario?

Nintendo is like that old story, where whatever it touches it turns into gold, I bet if Sony made the exact same thing it won't sell 200,000 units..

I always wanted Nintendo to win the console wars and go back to be a dominant household name, I just wish they would put in newer IPs and higher quality 3rd party titles

I'm not surprised. The folks that really wanted Modern Warfare 2 went for it at launch. NSMBW had an ok launch, but I see it being more appealing to the mass market. Plus, the multiplayer is great. Even I kind of want a copy, and I've not really gotten into a Mario Brothers game since the NES.

Shoot, I hate platformers, but with three friends sitting in the same room, you better believe I'll play this.

NSMBW is really a great game. It's the one game we've been playing since Christmas in our house. It's very challenging and I think it has a lot of replay value. The multiplayer cooperative mode is well done.

Whenever any of my daughters' friends come over, they want to play NSMBW together. They get hooked and tell their parents to get the game.

My girls really love that you can be a Toad (that's all they want to be in the game). The extra items like the propeller suit, penguin suit make the game fun.
