The Saturn is probably my favorite system to import for. I'm a fighting game fan so I bought just about every major fighter for it. It also helps that the model 2 controller is the best one for these types of games. I like it so much that I got the USB and PS2 versions to play my PS1/PS2/PS3 fighters. I also use Saturn controllers on my Xbox through the Magicbox converters, and on Dreamcast through the Innovation converter.
I really like the gold bar design on the Japanese covers. It makes the game feel more special for some reason. The cases definitely give you a different feel of the system. All the Japanese games I have are in very good to mint condition, have full color manuals, are compact, has that cool gold bar design, and usually have some nice artwork. This is in contrast to my American games, which have cheap looking black/white manuals, clunky cases that are usually already broken, and not as good art style.
Well... The Sega Saturn is officially the best thing ever.

Awesome collection, Breetai! I've picked up a few imports myself, though I've got nowhere as many as you. I've got 9 NTSC-J, 18 NTSC-U, and 2 NTSC-U "playable previews." I've had some good times with this machine, though I haven't been playing it much lately...trying to get over a PC binge.

Are you referring to the pics I posted in this thread or my backloggery?Ack wrote:Awesome collection, Breetai!
I wish I was able to keep all of the Saturns I've sold. Unfortunately, I have no room, my wife would wonder what I was smoking keeping so many Saturns around, and I can use the money gained from selling.
Still, I'm pretty darn happy with what I've got. I can honestly say that I've got every single Saturn game I've ever wanted and then some. Sure, there's always more to get (Radiant Silvergun, Thunder Force V, the Rockman games, Bubble Symphony, SotN, etc.), but none of those games were ever on my list of Saturn must-haves (not even Silvergun!). Dodonpachi was the last game on my must-have list, and I finally got it last month....

then accidently left it in one of the Saturns I sold and lost it forever. I just re-bought it yesterday.

The Saturn's definitely become one of my favorite systems, right up there with the Super Famicom. It's also slowly becoming another one of my many reasons for constant uncontrollable importing... (SFC games, anime CDs, anime R2 DVDs, etc)

MAN! Whoever got that must've felt pretty damn lucky that day! Sorry to hear that you lost it like that, but it's good that you've added it back to your collection!Yukima wrote:Breetai wrote:Dodonpachi was the last game on my must-have list, and I finally got it last month....

Not really. Apparently it got shattered in the system during transportation. Just ask Yukima.Original_Name wrote:MAN! Whoever got that must've felt pretty damn lucky that day! Sorry to hear that you lost it like that, but it's good that you've added it back to your collection!
I've now basically paid retail price for that game. Strangely, it's still kind of worth it. DDP is fun!

I need to get an Action Replay and more games for my saturn. My saturn collection is pathetic. Which is why I dont think I will get a PS3 this year...I think I will wait some more and concentrate on getting games for my other systems first.
