Clone systems you would like to see
Clone systems you would like to see
We have seen NES, SNES and Genesis clones for awhile now. What clones would you like to see? Ideally I would like a Dreamcast clone with the following features:
Support for hard drives and support for most image files including GDI
Overclocked to 250MHz or more out of the box
Built in Broadband
DVD support(just cause)
Even if it didnt support actual GD ROM discs(which I would guess is impossible without a GD ROM drive) I would still buy it. Imagine 100 full GDI rips right at your fingertips. Im already drooling on my keyboard and my pants are totally creamed just thinking about it.

Re: Clone systems you would like to see
Well, if we're throwing technological feasibility out the window...I'd like a system that can play all of Sega's disc-based consoles.
Hell, throw in a cartridge slot so you can play Sega cartridges too. I'd like it to have a form factor similar to the CDX.

Neo Geo clone, that takes both MVS and AES carts.
Neo Geo CD clone, no region locks.
Jaguar CD clone. Simply make it work, and it'll be an improvement over the original.

Have a system that has Sega Genesis, CD, and 32X all in one system...well just mash-up 32X and Sega CD since 32X is backwards compatible with the Genesis, and just call it Pluto.

yes. It would be nice if I didn't feel like neo geo was a money pit.the7k wrote:Neo Geo clone, that takes both MVS and AES carts.
I would like a dreamcast with wireless tech.
I'd like any console that isn't front loading- to get changed to front loading. Fuckers take up so much room.

I don't understand why everyone always says that making brand new GD-Rom drives is impossible. GD-Rom drives are just high speed CD-Rom drives with altered firmware/disc structure and a few other tweaks.
My Consoles:
Genesis - Nomad - SegaCD - GameGear - Sega Saturn - Dreamcast - NES - SNES - N64 - Gamecube - Wii - Playstation - PSone & LCD - PS2 - PS3 - Xbox - 3DS

Re: Clone systems you would like to see
I want a clone system that can play every game in the world, at the same time.
Hey, you said we were throwing technological feasibility out the window.

Re: Clone systems you would like to see
Given that clone consoles tend to to for simpler systems, ie cart based; I know there was an iQue (a Chinese rip-off) for the N64, but it only played certain downloaded titles and all in Chinese - a similar clone but able to play ROMS via SD card, or original game carts, English ones, would be nice.
Also, a plug'n'play ColecoVision one, that can take original carts, or have most on the chip. That would be awesome. It's games may be quite crude but they are fun; also, composite mod gives rainbow effect, a clone would improve the composite output for sure.
I vote therefore ColecoVision!

Re: Clone systems you would like to see
shit, if technology is just thrown out the window the ideal clone would be a system with only 1 cart slot and 1 cd drive. but the cart slot will play ANY cartridge based games and the cd drive will play ANY cd based games. that's what i'm talking about. cha-ching!
if you took a shit, please put it back
