Once again, I'm looking for some clarification. I know you can unlock hidden stuff in F-Zero GX for GC. I'm interested in the "AX" tracks. I'm under the impression that the only way to unlock these is by bringing a GC memory card to an arcade F-Zero AX machine, download something, then bring it back to the GC.
I'm sure you could probably unlock it with something else (action replay maybe, or something). Anyways, I'm mostly interested in the new tracks. I also found on some website that there are only like 25 recorded F-Zero AX cabinet locations in the USA. As I'm in Indiana, there are none here.
Anyways here are my questions:
1. Do these hidden tracks exist in F-Zero GX for GC?
2. Is the only way to get them by using an F-Zero AX arcade cab. and a GC memory card?
3. Anyone played F-Zero AX in an arcade? There are three different cabinets. The suped up Monster arcade cab that you sit in looks amazing. Anyone rode on one of these things?

Re: F-Zero AX
I would have to answer yes, to all of your questions.
However, I drove well over 100 miles just to play it.
Good luck.

Re: F-Zero AX
This is pretty interesting. I had one of these large versions in my local arcade (So. Cal.) up until about 18 months ago. It's a pretty neat experience, especially considering that I've only ever played the SNES version of F-Zero before AX.chupon wrote: I also found on some website that there are only like 25 recorded F-Zero AX cabinet locations in the USA.

However, I don't recall any memory card slots on the machine...
Which reminds me, does anyone know why the occasional NeoGeo multicade will have headphone jacks and memory card slots? Did the NeoGeo even support memory cards?
Re: F-Zero AX
alright cool.
with further review if you get all golds on master difficulty you unlock the AX tracks. hmm. that seams really hard to do. i'm going for it.

Re: F-Zero AX
Nintendo GameCube memory cards, on which saved games are kept, can be taken to an arcade with F-Zero AX, the game's arcade counterpart, to download special data. Players are meant to use the AX arcade cabinets to unlock permanent access to the fifth and last cup, the AX Cup; a number of new custom machine parts and ten new vehicles. AX cabinets are quite rare; according to a fan-compiled F-Zero AX Locations database, less than twenty are available in the North America region.[62] However, more can be located and its content can instead be unlocked in F-Zero GX by going through the game normally or by the use of a cheating device. In GX, the AX Cup can be unlocked by completing all other cups (Ruby, Sapphire, Emerald and Diamond) on Master difficulty, the vehicles by completing Story Mode missions on Very Hard difficulty and all the custom parts by completing Story Mode on Hard difficulty and the Grand Prix on expert in the Diamond cup.
i found this on wikipedia you can unlock everything by beating the game on different difficulties. problem solved.

Re: F-Zero AX
Well this is surprising... I am a completionist and obtained everything in the game that I knew how to back in the day (including those damn mini-movies for each character that you can only get by beating Master Class with their car). It looks like I have unlocked the AX racers and machine parts already; however I didn't know that you could unlock the AX tracks.... now I gotta do this!
Well, turns out I already did this and have all the special tracks and cups... lol
