Sega Saturn Modchip Help (Model 2 US)
Ok, I have tried playing games by reinserting the ribbon cable without the chip and it will play perfectly, but when I have the chip in, it refuses to spin the discs at all...
Any ideas what could be wrong?

You don't have the signal and power wires connected correctly.

Ok, nix that.
I have the a+b soldered together and I've put the power cable inside of the second slot. I'm still confused
EDIT:
Do I HAVE to solder the power cable to the power socket? or can i simply insert it?

Take detailed pictures of your soldering job and the power connection. Post the pictures.

I was going to but I do not have my camera with me. I think the problem may be that I have to solder the power link cable into the power socket. I wasnt doing that before.gtmtnbiker wrote:Take detailed pictures of your soldering job and the power connection. Post the pictures.
Could that be the problem? and the chip is soldered with the a+b method.

Ok, here's what Ill do Ill take a detail scan of my chip and then I will take a picture of my phone to show my setup with it in the console

Ok, here is the detail of my chip

These pics were taken with my phone so this is the best I could do.

And this pic shows my power connection but I havent soldered it to the power. Is that what I need to do?

It's really hard to tell anything from those pics. I've heard of some people not soldering the power wire, but this isn't recommended. I would try soldering it.

Well, thanks for the help guys, but I'm gonna buy a new chip and see if that one will work. I;m starting to think that this one was faulty.
