I like the King of Monsters idea
Re: Together Retro: The Official Forum Thread
I like the King of Monsters idea, but I would also love it if we did a Firepro Wrestling month. Iterations of the game can be had for the GBA or the PS2, and there are tons of imports for all sorts of systems.Ack wrote: King of the Monsters. We haven't done any wrestling games, and for those of us who aren't fans of UWC or whatever those fellas are calling themselves these days, or for those of us who aren't necessarily from a country that broadcasts or takes any interest in the wrestling shows broadcast in America, licensed games are a bit of an issue. Not so with King of the Monsters.

We are going to post it to the front page and give it till the end of the month. However next month's game will be Contra.

Me likes King of Monsters too -- I used to love that game and haven't played it in forever!

Good now I'll have a reason to beat Contra Rebirth... I havent played it for a while.
As for King of the Monsters... I never played it... why is it so loved?

it's monsters wrestling over cities. Much like Godzilla movies. I've played it before, and I think it's okay, but I don't love it. I never thought the controls were that great. And plus, it doesn't actually have Godzilla characters. (King Ghidra FTW!) Just basically knockoffs. That's why I suggested Godzilla Melee instead. But I guess more people are into King Of The Monsters since it is more retro and overlooked.SpaceBooger wrote:Good now I'll have a reason to beat Contra Rebirth... I havent played it for a while.

Exactly, and it was also the main SNK wrestler on Neo Geo. I'm not very good at the home ports, but I've read they're garbage anyway.noiseredux wrote:it's monsters wrestling over cities. Still, didn't stop me from buying both of them on the SNES.
