Bleemcast got dumped (after years of trying)

Post by DownSince86 »

Surprised this has not been posted here yet.

For all you DC users out there: The official (retail) copies of bleemcast were finally cracked near the end of last year by a Russian programmer. .cdi images of all three discs are floating around the internet now and they all work just like the originals. That means you can now save your game and you get better than perfect emulation.

So if your having trouble tracking down those bleemcast discs and want to play Metal Gear Solid, Gran Turismo 2, or Tekken 3 on your Dreamcast burn yourself a copy and check out what you've been missing.

If your not familiar with bleemcast:

- It is a PSX emulator for the Dreamcast, each disc supports one game.
- It supports the VGA adapter and can output at 480p. It improves the graphics of the PSX game it is emulating through hardware filtering.
- It can save to the VMU, but the emulator requires a dedicated VMU for the task (basically it emulates a PSX memory card).
- It supports all copies of the PSX game it is emulating. PAL, NTSC-U/J, retail copies or backups.

You can find the .cdi files over at snesorama or on popular torrent sites. :)

As far as I know bleemcast can't be saved or play games on multi disc like a lot of rpgs. Where did you get this new info because I visit snesorama.com all the time and have not heard otherwise.

That's the beta version that was dumped years ago.

What I'm talking about is the retail copies which were not cracked until about three weeks ago. :)

Wait, does this mean that ANY PSX game can now be Bleemed without the infamous saving issues?

No...It means that the retail versions of Bleemcast that were released on separate discs were able to be ripped.

There was one for Gran Turismo 2, Metal Gear Solid, and Tekken 3. You can save, but you have to dedicate a whole vmu for these bleem games.

We may see more "bleemed" games in the future now that these have been properly cracked/ripped. I'm sure there is someone out there working on that even as I type this.

Well I know that people have used the beta bleem rips to bleem other PSX games. It's fairly hit and miss, but a lot of good games run pretty well. Hopefully the same can be done with these new full rips, because that would be unbelievably epic.
