Both are excellent.
I prefer SF3 just because I'm a SF fan.
If you grew up with Capcom, go with Capcom.
If you like SNK, go with them.

Fatal Fury, MotW. Street Fighter III is great and a real revelation for Capcom, but MotW is just a sweet fighter that's actually friendly to both SNK and Capcom fans. It's a little more accessible than King of Fighters because there aren't 5 billion fighters, but the fighting system is simple yet deep, easy to learn and hard to master. The computer AI's kind of a bitch, though.

Wow now this is a difficult choice. If you would have told me king of fighters over street fighter it was gonna be easy "Street Fighter" but damn Mark of the Wolves now thats a sweet game. Well I'm gonna go with Mark of the Wolves. I went with MOTW because Ive never been good with the parry system of Street Fighter III.

I'm terrible at both, but they're both gorgeous and handle well. I'm going to say SF3:TS because the music has better production, and it has a larger cast without having any real cloned movesets on the characters, aside from the obvious Ryu, Ken, Akuma combination.

I honestly am not familiar enough with either game to say, but this nearly miraculous comeback video convinced me of SF III's awesomeness

If the link doesn't work, just try a youtube search for Street Fighter:The Beast is Unleashed. The guy playing Ken was getting schooled in this final, determining round and then he just went super saiyan. Ken always was my fave character

Yeah, that thing was crazy.
I can't imagine how much time it took him to perfect that timing.

It actually scares me that there are players that good. I have always LOVED 2-d fighters, but I don't think I have ever reached that level of skill in any of them that I have played
